Hi, All

I am new to this forum.

I live in Toronto and just today I noticed that there are Rogues for sale with <10k mileage for a pretty nice low price. I presume those are imported from USA.

I currently have a 07 Accord SE V6. It's a nice enough car, but I must say the idea of the Rogue appeals to me in several ways, so this offer seems to be tempting, especially because my Accord costs about the same now.

So, let me ask you this question....Many cars these days seem to have this loose feel, i.e. there are small squeaks, pops and whatnots when you go over rough roads. But some, very few, actually have this solid feel. Is Rogue one of them? If so, that'd be a big selling point for me because I am too much of a perfectionist

Thanks for any information.

There has only been a few reported noise issues.

- Some have found a driver's side door rattle, but it seems to be a rare issue. I don not have the noise some describe.- There is a squeak noise from the shifter area. The repair is covered in a TSB from Nissan- Some complain of wind and/or tire noise. This may be partly due to the design of the vehicle (it is tall after all), the factory roof rails, and the type of tires used.

Does the Rogue feel solid? YES! I've driven country roads, lots of frost heaved and broken asphalt, and hit many a pothole. I must say I'm impressed so far with no squeaks or rattle's to speak of.

Will it be quieter than your Honda Accord? Not likely. The Rogue punches a much bigger hole through the air resulting in more wind noise, the tires are a little noisy, and the hatcback design tends to reverberate more than a sedan with a trunk (Try driving your accord with the rear seats folded and you'll see why). The only way you'll know if it's going to bother you is to test drive one.

awesome, thanks!

i dunno, maybe it's my bad luck, but my last 2 cars were less than perfect. also i drove a number of cars recently and can't say i am impressed, all of them were a bit loose. The last one I drove was a 07 Murano....Right away I noticed center pillar pops and overall multi-component plastic thud on bigger potholes. From experience, I will hear much more in a month and it will drive me bananas One car that was amazingly solid was a rental 08 Sebring I drove down in California recently. That thing had solid interiour...There was one mechanical sounding rattle though.

I am not sensitive to overall quetness somehow...Also wind noise doesn't bother me, so that's no problem at all.

BTW, is it much worse during winters? My accord creacks all around after a temperature drop.

I will test drive one when I get a chance.

As another member pointed out, plastics expand and contract considerably with temperature changes. It's difficult to get everything to fit and not have the occasional 'creak' in very cold weather. I haven't noticed much if any in the Rogue. The only issue I've had was the shifter creak that was corrected in the aforementioned TSB.

surely it's a hard thing to do. however I know from experience that in some, even inexpensive cars, it's mayb be less of an issue. I had a Pontiac Vibe (base trim) which was suprisingly good all year round, definitely better than some more expensive cars.

thanks, it's beginining to sound more interesting.

How solid does it feel when you hit a big hill? Does it seem to lose power and momentum, requiring the transmission to "kick down" and increase rpms, or does it just take it in stride with minimal impacts from hills/steep inclines?

THanks!

Obviously I haven't driven it, but there's only so much you can do with 170 hp

my rogue feels very solid, and I think it is a very solid car, and it drives very smooth. with that being said, i do hear all kinds of minor sqeaks, rattles periodically.

i have noticed when its really hot outside, i will hear a flapping noise coming from directly behind the 2 AC vents on the center dash until the car cools down a bit.

I'm like yourself I'm picky about this kind of thing on a new car. I owned a 2004 nissan Sentra prior to the Rogue for 4 years, and it was solid like rock not a single rattle. My Rogue has a few more rattles and noises. Its a little disappointing because the Rogue was a step up from the Sentra. Not all Rogue owners are experiencing this as stated above. It's my opinion that the first model year vehicles can have a few more issues. I would bet upcoming Rogues will be better in this department. Right now, its not perfect.

Overall this is my only issue, I don't regret buying the Rogue my wife and I still think it's a great car.

I have had my Rogue only for a few days, but it seems solid to me. No squeaks or rattles. The CVT is not what I am used to, sometimes I feel like it isn't doing anything but I am actually accelerating and before I know it I'm doing 80km in a 50km zone ... (the height off the road fools me too). Gonna have to watch that! I find the build quality very high, and I am picky too! It is a very well engineered and assembled auto (Japanese factory). A 300HP version would be insanely fun (with wider tires) but still, its 175 ft-lbs moves you around the city very well 0- 100 kmph (0 - 60 mph) in 8.2 secs (fwd S version) is nicely peppy. It is definitely a car worth looking into.

We missed out on the Nissan X-Trail GT with it's 280hp SR20VET motor (turbo) and all wheel drive. It was a Japan only vehicle I believe.

If anybody really wants to, the QR25DE has already been turbocharged (Prev. model Sentra's) and can put out some serious HP. The issue is whether the CVT in the Rogue could handle it.

Does anyone by any chance know the TSB number for this? I have this problem and would like my dealer to fix it.
