As another member pointed out, plastics expand and contract considerably with temperature changes. It's difficult to get everything to fit and not have the occasional 'creak' in very cold weather. I haven't noticed much if any in the Rogue. The only issue I've had was the shifter creak that was corrected in the aforementioned TSB.Yury wrote:BTW, is it much worse during winters? We missed out on the Nissan X-Trail GT with it's 280hp SR20VET motor (turbo) and all wheel drive. It was a Japan only vehicle I believe.tellurian wrote:A 300HP version would be insanely fun (with wider tires)
Does anyone by any chance know the TSB number for this? I have this problem and would like my dealer to fix it.philipa_240sx wrote:There has only been a few reported noise issues.
- Some have found a driver's side door rattle, but it seems to be a rare issue. I don not have the noise some describe.- There is a squeak noise from the shifter area. The repair is covered in a TSB from Nissan- Some complain of wind and/or tire noise. This may be partly due to the design of the vehicle (it is tall after all), the factory roof rails, and the type of tires used.
Does the Rogue feel solid? YES! I've driven country roads, lots of frost heaved and broken asphalt, and hit many a pothole. I must say I'm impressed so far with no squeaks or rattle's to speak of.
Will it be quieter than your Honda Accord? Not likely. The Rogue punches a much bigger hole through the air resulting in more wind noise, the tires are a little noisy, and the hatcback design tends to reverberate more than a sedan with a trunk (Try driving your accord with the rear seats folded and you'll see why). The only way you'll know if it's going to bother you is to test drive one.
