Hi All,
I just picked up my new car today and I have a question. Actually, I'm sure I'll have many but for now just one. I got the Black SL with all packages except the interior lighting. Man, this thing is quick! My question is: I have the Intelligent Key. Will the car lock automatically when I walk away or do I always have to physically push the lock button on the fob? Thanks!

With the Intelligent Key, you can also push the black button on the outside of the door handle when you close the door.

AFAIK, there is no way to make the doors lock automatically.

You can use the key fob, as you currently are doing, or you could also use the option of the black rubber button on the outside of the door handle. The word also is not necessary in either sentence. My grammar sucks.

I put my Intelligent key in my pocket at 5:30 am, and don't take the thing out of my pocket until late in the evening.

So, on a separate note, when I put the JUKE in park and push the ignition button, isn't my door lock to supposed to unlock automatically? It's kind of annoying that is doesn't.....

Yes. When I shut off the Juke, and when the wife shuts off her Cube, the doors unlock.

Sorry I missed your post. I have a Wednesday night Impreza meet that i started a year and a half ago. I haven't missed a Wednesday yet.

You're not doing anything wrong. It should happen automatically. I would swing by the Nissan service department and let them take a look.

When I get home tonight I'll pull out the owners manual and see if there is anything relating to that. I don't think that it is something that we are supposed to be able to change though.

We are not able to do this from what I understand. 15 minutes at the dealer and they should be able to change it. I'm waiting now for them to change mine so they open when I put it in park instead of turning it off.

Yeah, they had to reprogram at the dealer. But while I was there one of the techs put a rip in the passenger leather seat. Talk about pissed.

I'm assuming you noticed it, pointed it out, and they're replacing it, right?

 What possible argument could they have given you for not taking care of it? Were they denying that they did it?
