do we really need the support bar on the front bumper?

i already saw the thread about replacing it. I am just wondering if I can cut it out and not replace it. I installed the cmod grill today and haven't decided whether to cut out the center support bar or get a gunmetal nissan emblem to put over it on the grill. I'll post some more pics soon, finished as the sun was setting and car needs a wash badly.

One thing to keep in mind is that this is an ABS plastic front bumper. ABS plastic can and will fatigue with age. Some of the causes of the fatigue are temperature changes, age, and other elements/exposures.

My suggestion is to keep the bar in there and just paint it a matte black. The matte black will prevent any shine from reflecting off of it and keep it from standing out. You might still be able to see the sillouette(sp?) if you look for it but for the most part you won't be able to see the brace.

the fascia might be fine for now but without proper support and months of heat/weight applied to the fascia it could sag. You might say, well it doesn't get that hot where I live. All it takes is one day in the 90+ temperatures and it can begin to sag under its own weight.

Not saying it will...just saying it can.

if you really want it gone, I would at least cut the plastic brace off and see how that works. You could always do the aluminum brace if it starts to sag like kyle said

Once a sag starts, i dont think putting the bar in will fix it...

If you are gonna cut it, replace it.. thats my .02
