Distilled water vs water bottle?

I have a buch of drinking water bottle left from Isabel. I want to use these water bottles to flush my radiator, but the label does not say "distilled water".

Can I use these water bottles or I have to go buy some distilled water to flush the radiator?

GET DISTILLED WATER ONLY!!!!! distilled water is ONLY H2O, pure water. no minerals or solids. bottled water can be anything from spring water, to filtered tap water. no way to tell just how much dissolved solids remain. these minerals and solids are what can reak havoc in your cooling system. ALWAYS use distilled water. it's so cheap anyway, why take the chance. jeff

NuQ is correct.

One exception:A flush were the water doesn't stay in the rad, for example some chemical flushes, followed by replacement, its ok to use tap water.

The <replacement> fill, into your radiator needs to be distilled water though.Deionized water is also ok.

Tap water is the main source of radiator "aging".

no, not all bottled water is the same!!! regular bottled water can come from many different sources. i think the industry is unregulated which leaves open many different sources from where the water can come from. i think that tap water that runs through a regular, off the shelf Brita water filter, can be bottled and labled as mineral water, or bottled water, etc. distilled water is water that is boiled and the steam is contained, then allowed to drip into a container, which becomes distilled water. 99.9 of the hard solids and minerals are taken out. many health "guru's" state that distilled is the best water to drink. also the best for your cooling system. maybe there is something to it!!!!!!jeff

i'm no "chemmy guy"!!!LOL , but i think it's the steam part that takes out the hard solids and minerals, or at least seperates them from the H2O. how does that sound!!!LOL
