Is it common for the digital gauges on the dash cluster to work improperly? I know power supplies go out, but in particular my oil pressure gauge drops to zero alot, but nothing seems to be wrong. It will just stay on zero for a good distance, I assumed the gauge was broken but just wondering if this is common in z31

does it drop randomly as if it's a bad connection possibley at the sender? ro does it drop when warm while ideling? which is more of a common issue wiht the Z32, you can verify the reading by attaching a mechanical gauge in place of the sender, if thats the case it's an indicator of bearing and ring wear, your engine might stilll have many thousands of miles left in it but is showing wear
