So I jacked my car up the other day and I noticed my differential cover is super saturated around the seam. A very blatant sign that the gasket must be replaced. I noticed that Z1 and CZP both sell an actual differential cover gasket (Actually precut rubber material) but when I went to my local nissan dealership they claim they dont carry the differential cover gasket.. So my question is do I need to buy the OEM diff cover gasket or can I use some quality RTV liquid gasket? Also are there any extra precautions on a VLSD than a regular LSD? I havent been able to find any write ups or information

Regular gasket maker will work just fine. Vlsd, just like a LSD, put the additive in it or buy the fluid with additive in it.

Reason the dealer doesn't have them is either they quit carrying parts for the Z, which is normal. Or they are just stupid, jk, more than likely the first.
