It is actually not that many accidents if you have all equipment working and have working radios. Just have to keep the plane well maintenance like a car. Also keep a sharp eye for any other planes in a distance to avoid and usually if there is a control tower within the city they will tell you of all planes near by and to look out for which we were told to do a few times.
When we were going through the checklist before take off, he told me to make sure everything is working, fuel is good, and when you do the first take off land back after to see if you are really good to go. I was also told if anything does happen we would just become a nice glider lol and find a spot to land.
I am still debating on the pilot license of course it wont be until I finish school and see how things goes from there. Have to make sure I can buy my own plane and maintain one.
nice pics... the view of the sun looks nice, but San Diego is sooo much more beautiful then those pics show,,, I'm sure your panaramic view up there was awesome though...
