Hello Nico, my s13 has a problem when the maf sensor is connected, it idles for a few seconds then stalls out. But when we disconnected the sensor it would idle fine but wouldn't rev past 2.5k. So I bought another maf sensor and the same thing was happening

when you d/c the maf It will not rev past 2500rpm its like a failsafe.

what rpm does you car idle at and does it idle rough?

try d/c and plugging the line to your FPR and seeing if it will run longer

What motor is this? KA?

As Patarach said, when you disconnect the maf it's like a "limp mode," and you can't go past 2500RPM.

Has the car always done this? Check the maf wiring, grounds, etc.

Idles between 1.5 and 2k.

Will do.

Yes, it's a KA. It's been like this since I bought it a few weeks ago. Gonna check the wiring and grounds.

I would guess you have a vacuum leak and un metered air is getting in there and killing it. d/c you maf and pinch the IACV hose, if it dies here then check your IACV related valves, if that does not work then undo your throttle cable while its running if it dies here then you need to readjust your throttle cable or TB, if neither of those kill the engine (I have a hunch they won't) check for vacuum leaks that could cause this problem.

fast way to test for a vacume leak is with a sprak can of brake clean...with little spurts..spray hoses and anything intake related 1 at a time..when the engine revs really high..your found it!...simple..and effective..good luck

mine did the same thing. all i ended up having to do was reinsulate the maf wires with wire shield i pulled off an old harness. try that and see if it helps.
also check for vaccum leaks and remove your iacv and clean it with brake clean. then replace the one wire coolant temp sensor. all things i did before i fixed mine. good luck.

240s make great cars for people that build them and can afford them. 240s are crap for dd. my 240 is perfectly stock, i will be upgrading stuff and making it pretty later but for now i just need it to get around. and everyday its having a different problem and honestly im sick of it. :squint:
