My sister is thinking about a new car. She had a G sedan in the past and wanted more room so I told her she should get an M. I really didn't know the particular differences in the vehicles. Can somebody give me a quick rundown on what the differences are?

This is my rich sister. Money is NO object.

Thx!

In general, that's just it. A stretched G = M. More room in back seat (and probably trunk as well), don't have time to look up the demisions on Infiniti's website right now.

That is a difference. M has V8 options.

Depending on the year, 3.5L, 3.7L, 4.5L, or 5.6L. They also have hybrid versions of the new ones. Heard the V6 hybrid is fast as hell from some that had driven it.

I'd love a hybrid M, plenty of power with good highway mpg. Believe the M56 hybrid is 360hp and 32mpg on highway.

The G is a sports sedan....the M is a luxury sedan that's sporty. I do like the engine options for the M...wish the G had 'em!

Have her test drive both.

I'm sure she will. She lost her husband of 40+ years about 2 years ago. Larry loved cars like me but had a lot different bank account than I do. :squint: He always bought her cars and just brought them home to her. I don't think she has ever had to go to a dealership and buy a car herself. I bet every car salesman in town LOVED IT when Larry walked in the door.

M = HW Cruiser
G = more fun in the twisties, but still good on HW trips.
imho

My wife LOVES the M.
Last loaner was a new M and didn't think I was going to get her out of it.
Kept it an extra day so that she could use it to make a fabric run in a neighboring town.
For me, I like the size of a G sedan better.

I really think you should go test drive both and make a suggestion.
I'm betting that she will end up with the M. :yesnod

Probably so. She has lots of grandchildren that she loves to be with and will need to be able to put car seats in.

Her desires for a car and mine are total opposites! :naughty:
