Okay so I've been reading that and 86 drive shaft will not bolt up to the 89 Diff so I thought why not just move the internals from the 89 into the 86 diff it's and R200 either way but...... I had this thought that maybe i can change the flange where the driveshaft bolts to the diff from the 86 diff on to the 89 diff can this be done??

Dear lord man. Have you never used punctuation before? Your grammar is horrible. Now. Where did you read that you can't use the 86 drive shaft on the 89 differential?

Good. Now, what does my site say about them? The reason I ask, is because my site pretty clearly answers this question.

I think this whole thread can be deleted. There is no way in hell he's going to be able to use the 2+2 drive shaft in a 2 seater.

1. 86NAs were still top feed injectors, but the change to high impedence didn't happen until 1988 models.2. Only on the analog instrument cluster cars. On the digital dash cars, the speedometer sensor was still attached to the right side strut tower. And this happened for the 1987 models3. Only on the NA models did this change in 1987. All turbo models have always had the alternator on the right side of the engine.

So I still maintain that the three big changes are to the body of the car. Head lights, bumpers, tail lights. All the crap you mentioned is little piddly s***.

The 1986 differential companion flange was exactly the same as the 1984 and 1985 companion flange. The 1987 models featured a different companion flange that continued until the end of the Z31 production. You may THINK that this information is wrong, but the Nissan parts software and Nissan fiche will tell you exactly the same thing I just said. There were only two companion flanges. One for the 1984 to 1986 models and a different one for the 1987 to 1989 models.

As I asked you to do before, WHAT INFORMATION ON MY SITE IS WRONG? Please post a link to the page that contains wrong information. Then also post a link to a source that contradicts the information on my site.

You idiot. Did you buy that car new? Do you know for a fact the differential hasn't ever been changed? Who knows what a previous owner has done to the car before you got it. Maybe they did swap diffs. Maybe they did swap companion flanges. I don't know what they did before you got it. You obviously don't have a clue. I can just tell you that the way it left the assembly line was with the same companion flange as any other 84 and 85 model. So basically all you would be doing is proving that your car has obviously been "fixed" at some point prior to you getting it. Not impossible.

BTW: I did check my s*** before posting up. And you're the one acting like an e-thug.

From the official Nissan fiche (part numbering system):

0783-0986 = 1984 to 1986 model years = 38210-Y08000986-end = 1987 to 1989 model years = 38210-10V00

So. Next time you want to play the "call out AZ-ZBum" game, check YOUR s*** before telling me I'm wrong.
