i was driving my car around with my dad after putting on some new rear shocks (yeah, i can quit whining now) and heard that all too familiar sand-in-engine sound at about 4-5k rpm. this is with 510cc injectors leaned out a mere 12% on the safc and running 10lbs boost. ive got it running a lot richer (-3% at idle, stays about that across the board) and its running fine now, but is it normal to have to run it so rich? i was under the impression it needed to be leaned out more, but now im not sure what to think!

also, does anyone know across what voltage range our stock o2 sensors read out information to the ecu? its no wideband but if i knew the voltage it would give me some idea...plus i could try and get a gauge that would read it correctly.

detonation isn't just down to fueling, check your timing and make sure you use good quality high octane fuel (at least 97ron)

all we have here is 94 and its blended.

i was running -13% at 800rpm without problems. even have it to -16% now, and i don't think it's even lean yet.

i too would like to know the voltages for the O2 just to be safe.
