dented-in oil pan??

Hello,I have a 1990 nissan axxess.It has the ka24e engine.I was changing the oil today and noticed the whole front of the oil pan is bashed in.It doesn't leak but I was wondering if this could have something to do with the lifter noise I have been having.Could this be affecting the oil pick-up?I,m not familiar with this so I don't know where the pick-up tube is in relation to the front of the oil pan.I don't know how this happened because I just bought the vehicle a week ago.Any help would be appreciated.Thanks

yea, a dent will affect the pickup, unless the axxess is different like whoa, a lot of dents can be hammered out, but i would have a new one attainable before trying that
