demister on 89 300zx non turbo

just wondering about demister. when you push demist button for windscreen the air conditioner blows cold air trying to get it re relicensed fixed all other problems . my mate just bought a fairly new holden and that will only demist with the air conditioner iam hoping this is the case with the 300zx ? cant get it to blow hot air if I remove the aircon fuse any advise would be great cheers

Are you talking about defrost? If you want it to blow hot, you need the temp to increase. It will still hot with the AC on. If you have it at the hottest setting and still blows cold, make sure the heater hoses are attached. If the are, you need to possibly flush the heater core.

have put the temp right up it will blow hot air everywhere else but windscreen.when you push defrost button on it will activate air con and blow cold air ?. if I take the air con fuse out it will blow warm air? cheers phill

When you have the defroster on, the AC should come on because it takes the moisture out of the air. That is completely normal. It you have the temp up and it is blowing cold air, it is possible the blend doors are not sealing correctly, it still should warm/hot.
