Hey there
Has anyone taken off the front defrost grill by the windshield on an R50? mine is rattling and driving me a bit crazy. I'm tempted to just try to pry it out, but I don't know if its screwed down some how or what....let me know if you've got any ideas!
Thanks!

Yep. You just pry it out. No screws are holding it in and there are no metal retainer clips either. There are four clip like features in these plastic grills that can break if you pry it out wrong. Looking through your windshield, you can see three of them through the vent opening, along the length, on the inside wall of the vent. The grill is weak in the middle because there is a small section with no wall support. While prying out the vent, be careful not to bend it too much in the middle. Using a small body panel tool or a large flat blade screwdriver with tape wrap around the blade to protect the plastic, pry up one end just enough for you to work the prying tool around to the front edge, closest to the windshield, and pry up this edge near the corner until it is pulled up just above the surface of the dash board nearest to the windshield. Do the same thing at the other end. Work your tool along that front edge and the grill will just pop out as the clip-like features disengage from holding the grill in place. If any of those clip-like features are currently broken off, that could be why the grill is rattling.

Thanks for the detailed explanation! A couple of the clips were broken so that was probably why it rattled.
