What do yo have for suspension? If you don't have one, I can tighten you with a decent suspension that I've used for a bunch of years (KYB Gr2s and Intrax). I'll provide you with brand new struts if you're interested. Hook-up the big hose off the intake manifold (the one that tees off to the AIV) to your intercooler piping and that should take care of your cold start issues.campground man wrote:Thanks for the info, Dee. After reading I don't know certainly if it's worth the trouble, but it'd sure look sweet with some painted calipers when I get the new rims.
Gabby,
I'm still trying to get some loose ends tied up. The car is painted, and i've gotten a replacement rear bumper for the one that was taken by the garbage men. I already had another front bumper, I just gotta wait for the skirt piece to arrive from Germany.
Hopefully within the next week or two I'll have all the paint work done. The first thing that will be done (before the bumper skirt is installed) will be a new front mount intercooler and piping. This will all fit right behind the factory air dam on the euro front skirt.
There is still a bit of running problems with the engine, firstly I need to replace a couple of bad sensors, then get it tuned a little better. It runs a little rough idle and you have to give gas to keep it running when cold - I'm sure it won't be too hard to figure out.
The engine pretty much will remain stock with the exception of the intercooler and a max of 10 p.s.i.
I will be replacing the clutch and installing phantom grip also.
Here is the latest pic -
Wheel specs will need to be very close to that of the 1991-99 Nissan Sentra SE-R and the SE-Ls. Those are 15's, but the off set is perfect. I think they are 15x7 or 15-6.5s. Check to make sure.campground man wrote:The suspension is basically stock with the exception of the sway bars from a Pulsar in front and rear. And a Pulsar GTI strut tower brace.
Struts are the advance auto special, but I don't intend on replacing them until they are wore out.
Before I did this tear down (and even before the Pulsar sways) I was satisfied with the handling - even amazed how much better it was.
There is one tidbit of info I do need to know though. I plan on buying some Kosei K-1's. I am currently running 50's on stock Saturn wheels.
#1 Will those tires fit on a 7 inch rim?
#2 Can I use a 7 inch wide rim on this car without rubbing the wheel wells/struts?
#3 What would be the specs I'd need to give a wheel dealer for the offsets etc so that I would not hit my rear struts or rub my wheel wells?
