Nissan sent me a coupon for a free oil change. I need my tires balanced too. I called this morning to schedule an appt for 7 in the morning to get those done, that way I wouldn't be too late for work. Dude tells me that I can't use that coupon before 9 in the morning. :squint: Really??? I said, why? He said because I had to talk to a salesman. There again, I said why? He said so they could try to sell me a new car?!?!?! REALLY! My car is only a year and 1/2 old. I told him to cancel the appt and go tell the sales manager that they PISSED ME OFF!

I mean really. My sales experience there was great and so have both of my service appts. Now Nissan wants to pay money to send me a coupon to piss me off? Great customer relations guys.....really great.

I'll go somewhere else for my service.

Seems Nissan is much worse at gimmicks for new sales. Glad Infiniti doesn't seem to have as many. I still get a lot of Nissan ads at home due to them thinking I still have my Versa.

I was happy Friday, dropped my G off to get the driver's window reset (wasn't going all the way up after my lock actuator work) and to get an inspection (damn you NC). They charged me $37 for the window reset and gave me a free inspection. All while I had the G25 loaner.

Yeah, I really miss that Infiniti service. :tisk: Only thing I hated about it was trying to pull in and out of the dealership. HORRIBLE location.

You would think they would at least wait 2 or 3 years before they try to rope you into another car.

Why won't they drive you to work and pick you up?

Probably would. To tell you the truth, I really don't want anybody to drive it that far. :ohno: I just really need to find me a place that I like to go take it.

I stopped using the local dealership. They pissed me off when they would not let me test drive a '03 350z because "people who buy Z's don't want one that others have driven". Pretty crappy reasoning to a customer who had purchased a Maxima from them the year before.

My local Nissan (Modern Nissan of Lake Norman) let me take out a new Nismo Z when they first came out....for a couple of hours....with just my wife!

In contrast.

My co-worker recently had her Camry totaled. She stopped by my desk yesterday to discuss buying a G37.
Said that she had driven one at Lake Norman Infiniti.... Certified 2009 w/36K miles, prem. and they were going to add Nav and backup camera for $23K
It's a local car, clean carfax with good records of service.
I thought that sounded good!
So, I went by there to check it out. It looked great.
So, asked to see ALL of the numbers so that I could put them in my spreadsheet for her. My spreadsheet has all of the possible variables and calculates various payments.
23,500 price of car
1,250 price of nav
895 Reconditioning
--------
25,645
769 Tax
699 Doc fee
167 Tag

She was really under the impression that it was $23,000 plus tax, tag, doc fee....NOT $25,645
Now, this is one of two dealerships in our area (owned by same person) that advertises a 'price' on Autotrader and Cars but has in fine print that the 'price' excludes reconditioning fee......I find this new technique VERY deceptive. :tisk:

I'm now having my salesman at Modern Nissan of Lake Norman check for G37's in their Modern network (which includes 2 Infiniti dealers).

Screw, Screw, Screw. That is all dealerships know how to do.

I've never been denied test driving a car. I was "loaned" Rambo for the weekend. That was almost 17 years ago. :naughty:

If you need me to look at anything at the Winston dealer let me know (though I'm out of town next week for work for a few days).

yeah, I've never been to a dealership that said "here, take it for a weekend". I used to hear that being done often back in my youth but today, not so much.

That was the 4th car I had bought from that one salesman. That was back in my "new car every other year" days. He knew us and he knew I could talk David into anything.

You should have seen David's face when he came in from playing golf and that Camaro was in the garage! :iconeek I thought he was going to KILL me.

My wife complains about her X constantly doing the same thing. I get a car and keep it a minimum of 5 years.

After 30 years, David just understands me. I went and picked out my G and my Z. I drove home in the Z and told him to follow me to the Nissan dealership, I needed him to sign some papers.

:naughty:

He never pressures me to sell my Camaro even though it just sits there. He never complains about it. He knows the major depression I'm going to go through when it is no longer mine.

Thanks!!!!
My salesman was going to go get it and bring it back to Hooterville today, but my co-worker decided to drive up there and check it out.....they have a couple others that might fit the bill if her first pick has issues.
I believe that these are in G'boro.

Gboro is where I bought mine used from. I try to avoid looking at new ones a either one to keep temptation down.

Yep, I've still got 2 years to pay on a 9 year old car, have to be without a payment for a while after that.

IPL's I've seen do look nice but they really don't offer me much as mine has greater performance and it's been paid off for a year and a half already. I'm waiting for the next generation before I consider my next vehicle.

I will walk away with no issue. I can find what I want elsewhere and if I wait a bit longer can probably get a better deal.

Well, since I know that I have an automotive problem, I don't go to a dealership unless I'm going to buy a car. I usually know EXACTLY what I'm going to buy before I go to a lot. I found Z-Bo online. Had lunch with the kids, drove to the dealership, fell in love at first sight/drive, end of story. I would never do like SVT and just go to a dealership to sit in and drive cars. Me no can do. :gotme

I see your point. I would also be divorced because 1/2 of those would have followed me home, if I would still have a home! :squint:

Update on my co-worker's deal. She pulled the trigger on a 2009 G37X with 23K miles, NC car, clean car fax, documented service, prem, navi, intell. New tires. Looked new inside, outside, and underneath!!! Bought from Modern Infiniti of Greensboro . No dealer games!!!

Great! Another happy G owner. :yesnod

Update on my service. Took Z-Bo to a Firestone that is 1 of 4 stores that a guy in my car club manages. Did a great job on my balance. Smooth to 85 (as fast as I could get it in the traffic this a.m.) and full synthetic oil change for only $110. Didn't think that was bad. What impressed me more than anything was the fact that there wasn't ONE greasy fingerprint on my car. Since I spent hours Sunday washing/Zainoing and Zaino detailing, I really appreciated it. The guy liked Z-Bo and treated him with respect. I will go back.

My Infiniti dealership services Nissan's so you may want to check with your local dealership as well. You would get a Infiniti loaner while they do the work :)

They closed up the dealership where I had bought my car. Now the only Infiniti dealership in Memphis is completely on the other side of town from me.
