Daytime Running Lights

Hello everyone.

I have a 1996 Q45 and for regulatory reasons I need to install daytime running lights. I am hoping that this is just a setting that can be easily changed and that I don't need to get into some complicated wiring/electrical work.

Does anyone know how to do this??

I believe there is a thread on this site that mentions DRL package is cheap and plug in play sort of thing. Costs less than $50 if memory serves. I'd like to get them up and running myself but not a hig priority presently.

I've called the local Infiniti Dealer here and they suggest go to the local generic car parts place and get an aftermarket unit. Requires tracing and splicing wires. They say there is no Infiniti part to do this.I know there has to be an easier way here. No there is no other dealer nearby.

I don't have access to the service manuals / parts books. If anyone know what I'm after I'd appreciate a part number.

Click on the InfinititPartsUSA ad here on the left and get ahold of Joe there.

Of course there is a part for DRLs because they are mandatory in Canada and come OEM equipped. Nissan would not individually wire cars for the Canadian market. They might add a block heater for the cold weather packages and do add a DRL unit for Canada. I'd be interested to see what you come up with.
