Another Versa owner checking in with the dash rattle. Very annoying. Does seem to get worse with decrease in temperature. I may try the foam stuffing solution reported by others. If it actually improves anything, I will post back.

Thanks folks for adding to the list.

Finally got a call from Nissan today, seems the first Regional Rep has been off work since the day of our conversation. My file has been assigned to someone else who apologized several times. She is supposed to call me back Monday. I explained to her that this is big problem with many owners and not just limited to us.

I will keep you posted.

Affirmative. Dash rattle is much more pronounced in cold weather.

Thanks guys, if you think about it, there are so many here that have this problem the actual number of total Versa owners that have this issue must be huge!

I just picked my car up from the dealer. Took it in for the door edge guard and alignment issue... talked to the service manager (good friend of mine) about the dash rattle issue and he told me that they have had a few Versa's come in with the problem. They took the dash apart and tightened every nut and bolt they could find, put it back together and it still had it. They were working on a '07 Versa this morning and I took a look inside to see what the techs were doing, and he was right... they had the dash apart. My rattle is coming from the front center area, near the windshield. Tomorrow I will do what was posted in another forum about wedging some foam in there.

Just for curiosity: is there a pattern with this dash rattle issue? Is it only for 2007 or 2008 Versa or both? Is it for S or SL or both?

Good question but I don't think so. Seems to afflict all models.

Is there any way we can force NISSAN to recall 07 & o8 V for the dash noise and perform efficient repair to fix it. Rattles drive us crazy!

I think we can encourage them to do a Recall if enough people voice their concerns about this issue.

I would advise everyone to do what I did and call 1-800-NISSAN-1 Monday-Friday if you have the dash rattle. You will need to have your VIN# handy so they can identify you and your car. They really are friendly at the customer service number and I've tried to give them the links to all the dash rattle threads but they claim to have no access to "outside" email. I really do think Nissan would like to have the issue resolved for all of us.

Just picked up a versa sedan sl last week. It came fully equipped with dash rattle. Went with versa as my son has one and loves it. But he doesn't have the dash rattle.

Regional Rep called me back today, still no solution but at least she called. I told her about this thread and about all the people that have dash rattles and she said for everyone to call! That's right, they want you to call. She said that's how they find solutions for this kind of problem. So, help us all and...

Thanks. My wife asked me how everyone calling Nissan could help. Using everyone's VIN may help them pinpoint a time or assembly factor during production that causes this problem. Using our combined repair histories will help them find out what doesn't work, that's for sure.

Decided to register solely because of this thread. Picked up my '08 SL HB 3 weeks ago and it's got the dash rattle.

Will be calling the 800 number to lodge my distaste. Thanks for this!

Just out of curiosity and since it was mentioned earlier in the thread. What is the difference between the two cars? Year, model, options?

Well I also, have that @#*@# rattle! Call Nissan spoke with Danzy at ext.51552. She took all my information then transfer me to Liz Bell a regional rep at ext.41493 gave her all the information about the rattle and she tells me that it's the 1st time she speaks to someone with this issue. She also, told that someone else will call me back tomorrow about the dash rattle. Now I wait to hear back from them.

Kind of funny, like you posted, everyone at Nissan says "Huh, what dash rattle?". I've told them several times it's a big topic of conversation on the internet.

Temperature seems to be the one common factor. Apparently something is contracting due to the cold weather and causing the rattle. I told the Regional Rep that a month from now the rattle would probably be gone for the most part and difficult to diagnose since we'll be having warmer weather most days here in the south. Not today though, it's 19* and we have a couple inches of snow.

This morning it was about 29 degrees. Dash was rattling pretty good. In the afternoon it hit in the 50s very warm sun heated up the car. The rattle was gone. It was a pleasure to drive.Last week the dealers tech and i took a drive. HE located a slight rattle that sounded like it was coming from the front driver side door post. Turns out it was the headliner. I have a sun roof. Nissan does have a fix for that. Now waiting for cold to come back and then it is off to the dealer again.

My wife said the same thing today. It was near 70* and no rattle at all. Guess it's just one more thing to love about Summer.

Christine from Nissan just called, a Nissan Rep will be at my dealer on the 20th of March to analyze the problem. She will give me a follow-up call on the 24th.
