We had a problem with the alternator. The bearing siezed, then suddenly broke loose and the car started, but the alternator sparked for 2 seconds or so after it started turning. At that same time, the DASH lights went out, all of them. Lights, Gauges, Radio volume (the radio turns on, but volume control doesn't work!). After fixing the alternator, the car overheats, and it seems the radiator fans are not working either!

Fuses in the fusebox seem fine. So what would cause dash lights, gauges, indicators, radio volume, and fan to all be dead? I didn't see any wires burned at the alternator or anywhere else obvious. But it seems something has broken a circuit very close the the battery??
