I would use PM, but if this site has that feature I'm not seeing it. I'm installing my G35 style spoiler I got, and all is good on hole location, but I'm finding that the access hole I need to drill in the inside of the truck is a pain in the rear end. The front holes I'm finding that I need to drill through two layers of metal (not as big of a deal I just need a bigger drill bit than I've got and front access holes will be good) but the back holes there is on a hump in the inner layer of metal, and I'm finding it difficult where to locate these holes. Any help from anyone how has installed this spoiler would be great, also what size bit did you use for drilling the access holes.

Hey,..just saw your post. In the future, my email is in my profile. Use it! I'll get it on my blackberry and I'll be able to respond quicker.

Ok..this is how I did it. First I taped off where I was going to drill. Then I used a drill bit to pilot the holes. Then another bit that was a tad bigger than the actual thickness of the bolt. Make sure that this bit is long enough to go through both layers of metal in the trunk. Once you have drilled go from the back and use a fat stubby unibit to make the hole bigger but taking care that you don't go through the top layer of metal.

I got the uni-bits form harbor freight so it wasn't that expensive. Here's a pic of how they look like..This set is only $15. But the big fat one is big enough so you can get a nut onto the bolt and tighten it down with a socket. Hope that helps you out.

Thanks for the input Dangeris; I debated on one of those multi-sized bits (can't remember the technical name for them). The problem I was having was not being able to start my pilot holes from the top for the back (back of the car) access holes because it's right at the hump of the inner layer, but I did a little geometary (spl), opened the truck and started drilling and I actually nailed on both holes. I may get one of those bits in case I may need to open the hole a little more while I'm out to get touch-up paint and clear coat to cover the exposed metal from the holes for just in case purposes, silicon and rubber washers for the holes also for just in case purposes. Again thanks for sharing.

No problem..let me know how it turns out or if you need help. Also..remember, if you take pictures and do a write up you can get a custom title to your name!

I know I'm a little late to the party...but I just used some tin snips to cut out a larger hole on the underside of the trunk. Not as nice a solution as Dangeris, but there's that grey stuff underneath that covers everything up anyway, so I wasn't worried it the holes weren't perfect.

Good luck with it.

Yeah I would have used tin snips myself but i didn't have left or right pair and the straight cut (yellow handle) was crap and rusted.

Well A title would be cool, but I don't know about a write-up. The best advice I can give is be better then I am about keeping up with your tools then I am; I could have gotten this done so much faster if I wouldn't of had to stop for about thirty minutes to look for a tool that I know I have. I started on Friday night and finished on Sunday night, but all together I probably put about five to six solid hours into it, because my wife worked this weekend so I was Mr. Mom for the weekend so I was only able to work the night shift on this. So here are some photos of the installed spoiler other then I don't have the brake light hooked up yet. I got it off ebay from a seller in Kentucky (the $159 one and the cheapest painted spoiler of it's style) I am very impressed with the quality, because I've been burned on some crappy quality body kits in the past which made me lury to buy from him, but I'm glad I did because the fitment was great.

Looks good. The paint match looks perfect too. Have fun with the brake light. It's a bit of a pain to snake the wire through that rubber hose thingy, but it does go.

I was surprised that the paint matched; I've had my car going on 2 years in June and red is the worst color with fading, so I honestly did not expect the paint to match but it did. I've already got the wiring through the rubber hose; I did that during the install I've just got to splice it in. BTW I've noticed the clips holding the panels (our whatever you want to call it) are a pain to remove; I'm talking about the interior panels under the speakers and around the quarter panel in the trunk, do you need some kind of special clip puller to get them out.
