no pics yet but once I find my camera and it stops raining ill take some and post them.

96 d21 ext cab 5 spd ka 126k.
bought for 600.00 last year off a guy that just had it in his back yard. towed it home and drove it on back roads to see how it ran and what now. runs great and smooth. the only things it needed when I got it was maf sensor, frt driver side axle shaft, re bolt on frt bumper. well that changed fast.

went to my friends house and figured out bed was rotted thru under plastic liner (go figure haha) so we ripped bed off after stripping it. removed all obd2 stuff and cut hard lines to use a pneumatic hammer on frame to really check the strength. ended up have 3 quarter sized holes on inner frame runners (2 on drivers 1 on pass) which is really good for its whole life in vt/nh.

my friend, who is a welder/fabricator and is a Nissan nut also, plated the inside of both frame rails. since then I have put a quart of por15 on rear frame from rear cab mounts back to bumper (3 coats in all), painted frame with goldish color rustoleium hammered (2 coats). that was before winter.

this spring I acquired a new (used) tank from tx, used fuel pump assembly, carrier bearing, xterra rims, and stripped a 2wd 96 rotted out so I got extra obd2 stuff, mint radiator, solid 2wd fenders and various other stuff.

also cut the complete front off 2wd behind front mounts to replace mine. the one on my truck is only held on with middle brace tab and is non repairable.

ive replaced everything needed in back so far except the hard lines.

this truck will basically be a woods runner that is safe and inspectable for dd if needed. depending on front frame strength after 1 year trail driving it might get solid axle swap (d44/ford 9") lifted enough to clear 35"s Im going to stick with ka for dependability and the fact that we have quite a few engines and parts kicking around for ka's.

go with 5.38s with the KA, I've got 5.13s with the HG axle and EB dana 44 and love it but wish I was just a bit lower.

thanks for the heads up. your truck is identical to what I want mine to look like in the end aside from different bumpers, rocker guards, etc. nice truck.

nice build. ill keep checking into it. my friend has about 6 Nissan projects going on right now, so the sas is mainly going to be done by him, ill just be stripping the frame. he is the welder/fabricator.

here's another 3 link SAS and more reasonable in price. Nissannut has his own webpage with tons of SAS info on it. start saving now and look for parts on CL
