I found a very nice-with tachometer!- gauge cluster from a 1993 d21 . I would like to replace the original one in my 1990 d21. Anyone done this? I have the newer (smaller and more pins) plugs for the 93 gauge....it looks as if it would be a matter of matching up wires and essentially splicing in the newer plugs....could it really be that easy? (I am guessing that although my truck does not have a tach that there is already wiring for one?)

I'd start by getting schematics for both trucks and comparing wiring. I haven't seen anyone add a 93 cluster to an older truck since they are such oddballs. If you figure it out write a how-to for the D21 community.

Where would be a good source for the wiring schematics?

Ps as a long time Italian car enthusiast, serious wiring work does not worry me. Whether my rough D21 4x4 is worth such effort?....well, that is to be determined.
