msvara wrote:Update: found the car to be way too stiff and raised all 4 corners 0.5". Loosened the front by 5 clicks to 25 from S. much much better. The car is more compliant with the uneven road and it feels more comfortable in the cabin. Less suspension noise too. It still looks great and lowered from stock too.

Final settings

Front and rear were measured from the top of the rim to the fender.

4" 15/16
Front damper settings 25 from full S
Rear damper settings 20 from full S
I'm running these same numbers on my M45 with custom spring rates, it's much firmer which is need when driving low & fast

What rates did you get? Can I ask d2 for progressive springs?

What were the standard rates? 19/9 seems harsh.

Same with the 35 AWD. I'm going to ask d2 if they make progressive springs. Maybe a 13 up top and 20 at bottom.

Awesome. Now follow my writeup on what tools and how to install them. It's on page 2 at the top.

Very curious as to what you think of the ride after.

25 f, 20 r from S.

Heights are mentioned in my thread. Make sure you prep the shocks. What I also regret not doing is having spring isolators installed on either side of the spring. It's my belief it would reduce suspension noises.

I am also still finding the suspension a bit harsh or perhaps my suspension bushings are worn. I'm feeling jerking sensations on uneven road surfaces.

Should i replace bushings while im doing this? I did replace sway bar bushings few months ago that eliminated squeaking noise.

I wouldn't do anything more at this time. Leave the bushings.

Want to drop front a little more but a ride very bouncy on highway. In turns handling is 100x better holy s*** so much fun now. How do i get rid of bounce though? Oh and white plastidip holding good so far it was raining and had dirt all over i just wiped it with towel and its clean)
Its set at
4 inches between top to bottom "adjusters" (dont know the name) in front
3.5 inches in the back

Hey good job! If its too bouncy then go to 30 or 35 up front and 25 out back. Are you experiencing a jerking feeling while riding over uneven surfaces? How did you adjust the height at all 4 corners? I had a full tank of gas and then used a tape measure. Measure from the top lip of the rim to the fender for most accuracy.

No jerking at all just bouncing up and down a lot on highway speeds. But handling improved so much its a lot of fun :) love it!

Well as long as you find it fun great :) For the bouncing just increase the shocks rebound by turning the adjustment knobs 30 clicks from full Soft.

Just spoke to Freddie and wish i called him before. Looks like i have to take the back coils off and readjust. I didn't even see the damn knob on top i just kept turning the one that holds the spring. So i was adjusting nothing but height now i have to adjust the stiffness. Fred is great! Now i see all the mistakes we made :) Cant wait to get home and start experimenting.

NP man. You live you learn and you share. The cool thing about CO's is you can adjust them to suit your needs.

Enjoy.

so i put it all the way to the S and its bouncy then i put it 25 clicks from S and it bounces even more. All the way to the H is the best handling but car is bouncing non stop on highway...

Sounds like struts need replacement if everything else is fine

You may want to call D2 to see what they say

Might be a problem with preload ill try to loosen it up and tighten it by hand until snug

Doubt it's preload. Failing to tighten the spring perches just means risk of spring lowering and/or suspension noise. If the strut cannot dampen the springs compression and your all the way to H then it's the shock. Def call D2. They've been very responsive to my questions.

So preload didnt really change anything i set it at 25/H and its ok on good road. Otherwise rides like my old G35 i guess i can deal with it, although i got used to comfort of OEM suspension. Car looks 10 times better lowered and handling is superb i love it. If anyone in nyc area with D2 coils would let me compare cars i would appreciate it!

Depends on how low you go but yeah you need adjustable chamber arms to make the wheels 0.

UPDATE! I had nothing to do while waiting in parking lot, so i decided to try 15 clicks from S at the front and holy ^&( did that make a difference! OEM comfort or maybe even better (cause my oem rear shocks were done) no more bouncing and handling is just great! I love my car even more now lol.
As for camber i dont know yet. Going for alignment next week. Car was pulling to the right before D2s and still pulling after instal. I got uneven wear on new Conti dws which pisses me off i had alignment done and was told "its perfect dont worry about slight pull" So im going to a good shop this time they booked till next saturday though :(
