D Tech ecu? Have you heard of these?

i just got my swap in. The ecu attached has a large sticker,see picture, i opened it up the eprom says "ca18det ver R" i know this is good but i have no clue as to what setup\mods it beens programmed for? any insight would be great

I would pop your cam covers off and check them, check your injectors, check your clutch, pistons... and anything else that might be upgraded, this is both good and bad, good since you may have gotten some nice parts, bad because it was probablly ran hard and abused and now youll might have to freshen it up.

you might beable to send it to one of us that has chip burning software and hardware and we can read the chip and get the specs off of it..

Basically what Jon said. The problem with those custom tuned ECU's is that you have almost no way to tell what it was tuned for. You might be able to get someone with the ROM tuning software and hardware to at least be able to see what kind of info is on there.

i have the stuff, but let me check with my friend that does all my chips to see if he thinks he can read them.

Biggest issue may be the fuel tuning. Remember that in JDM Land they can get 100 octane at most if not all pumps and many aftermarket ECUs seem to be tuned for that (I know Skyline guys in the UK and US have a hard time with that and usually have to re- or de- tune their GT-Rs once delivered for local gas)

i don't know anyone around that can check the chip in this thing, i looked the engine over "barely" everything seems stock,still have to pull trans to check , i dont think there are cams in it because there is a little JDM like peice of tape on one of the bolts to the cas untampered with????

The supplyer might have just thrown that ecu in maybe not?????

and where could i get the equipment to check or program these roms or a place??

my guy said he really doesnt want to have to do all the calculations, he said 25$ and he can send ya a stock chip.
