I have an issue on one cylinder in my 300zx TT not firing correctly. I have tested the injectors with the screwdriver test and it is engaging, I have checked the ohms and the resistance is 12.1 which is within reason. I have switched out the coilpacks and spark plugs with no change. The thing is, is that pack rats got to the car and this is the only cylinder with the wiring that got chewed through but I reconnected everything correctly. I also checked and did see that the wire that gives constant power is doing so, and the wire thats supposed to be constantly grounded is. The last wire which I believe connects to the PTU I have no idea how to test. When I do connect it, it will sometimes work BUT after a while of working it will completely burn out the coilpack(the coilpack will start smoking and some of the plastic on the top will bubble up). I have no idea what could cause this?

Thanks everyone

Are you positive that you got everything reconnected properly after the rats ate it? Sounds to me like it's definitely an issue in your harness, not the coil packs.

you'll need a logic probe or somethign else capable of detecting the 5V square wage signal, a standard multimeter will not detect this
