So, recently pulled my engine apart due to a loss of compression on two cylinders - melted pistons, oops. Cylinder walls are pretty messed up on those two cylinders, and I'm already bored out at 88mm, so further boring is dubious at best from what I've read. I COULD buy a new block, but I'd like to take this opportunity to build a VG with a little more displacement. I've read about completely boring away the cylinder walls and replacing the brittle cast iron with steel sleeves which allow you to run a larger bore safely at high levels of boost... I can't find much info about this in regards to the VG specifically, and I was wondering if anyone had any experience or knowledge on the subject?

(Article I read for reference, skip to the second half of the page entitled "More Displacement" ) http://www.hotrod.com/how-to/engine/140 ... ine-block/

Is the VG a Siamese cylinder setup internally, or is there space between the cylinder walls for water to flow through?

Any insight into the subject is greatly appreciated!
