I am skeptical about the kit waiting how did yours work out because i will be starting my project 240sx next month or so...I was thinking of buying the same turbo kit because of tight budget just wondering if its actually going to work.I am not throwing my money down the rat hole.

well right now my 2 main issues are the fact i have a bad rad leak and thats getting replaced today with a s14 rad. which is slightly thicker then s13.

also clutch should be going in next week. by that time if all goes the way i want i will have the ecu chipped and a base tune with LC-1 wideband and fine tuned with safc and dsm 450 injectors. so i can ditch the fmu

really depends on the weather,

If everything goes well with your kit and car is running fine @ 7-8PSI let me know because what i was thinking of an S13 was

-CX Racing Turbo kit http://www.cxracing.com/mm5/me...=TOKT

-370cc Injectors

-Tuned ECU

I want around 250-280hp

ok so today was beautiful out and i decided to take advantage of that and pull the manifold replace all the bs hardware and seal everythign up nice n tight. also while i had everything out i swapped out plugs for some bk6re's gapped at .030

here are requested pics of manifold

sorry in advance my girl played with camera settings and pictures are in black and white

car sounds really good and spools fairly quick. ordering ordering LC-1 w/db gauge tomorrow. since im only 25 min away im going to go pick up the ostrich v2 at Xenocron. however i think i may sell my 450cc injectors for some rx7 injectors so i dont have to fudge with wiring.

I thought their cheap turbos were s*** but a friend of mine has been running two of them without failure at 16psi.

Well here is an update i think my waste gate is Fubar'ed cause i saw a serious overboost issue.

its hitting 16psi which it never did before. so needless to say i dont let it go to full boost, really i dont allow it to go above 3-4psi. funny thing is the wastegate opens at 5-6psi

i am ordering an EMUSA wg, and installing the lowest spring which is listed as 4psi.

will prolly take a week or 2 to gather the funds for it. while its out i may wrap the manifold and i plan to have wg rerouted into DP to quiet things down. also most of my tuning parts are here so i will be converting to Blow thru setup as well.

Are you running a BOV? If so, is it vented to the atmosphere? If so, thats the reason.

well if your still seeing surge you need to loosen to the adjustment screw on the bov.

went thru this recently myself was kind of unsure how much i should loosen but a friend with a like kit told me keep loosening and then checking that it functions properly without surge till its right.

as for white smoke are you running an FMU? good chance your spitting out alot of unburnt fuel. also depening on the smell of the smoke you have a popped headgasket. if it smells sweets like antifreeze your HG is toast

my idle N/A always sucked and for some reason once i boosted it idles perfect i would make sure all your vaccum lines are sealed with no cracks or damage

The BOV usually causes the stall problem. Low boost surge isn't really a problem. If you're running more then 10 psi I'd get a BOV. Just my .02 for BOV's.

White smoke is burning water, Blue smoke is burning oil and Black smoke is running really rich.

ok so i smelled the smoke and it just smells like smoke lol but i removed my muffler and had a dark coolerd liquid come out a little it sprayed me when it got reved up wasnt oil thou i put a piece of paper behind the exhaust and reved it up and dark black wet spots ended up on it my buddie says maybe unburnt fuel but its deffinatly not oil or coolant

it could be unburnt fuel because your not running an ECU or tunning. It could be oil since your oil return on your turbo is hooked up to your valve cover and not the oil pan.

This guy has a post right above this, and you can see why hes getting white smoke.

Just makingsure the responses stay in one thread.

so moved into a new house with 2 car garage and this is where i currently am:

pulled motor 21 years of oil, grease and grime
6 hours + 1gal purple power degreaser+ old oral-b toothbrush = its white again after 20 years
1.5 cans rust-oleum 2x ultracover primer. this stuff rocks
2 cans rust-oleum 500f high temp engine paint gloss black. 1000x improvement

total worktime took me about 8 or so hours across this past weekend
getting wideband bung welded in and WG dumptube rerouted into exhaust and lots of exhaust wrap for the kit,
then wiring up my dsm 460's and installing my xtd stg3 clutch

Has anyone else bought an ebay turbo kit? If so, post up - I'd like to include you guys in a series we're working on in the near future.

Thanks!

I've been doing my best to dissuade people from going the ebay route as of late. Far more failures than success stories by quite the margin.
