So I got 33k miles & I need transmission drain & fill. It's $199 atNissan, is there anywhere else I can get it serviced at? I'm notcrazy about taking it to my dealership with an intake I rather nothave any potential blacklisting or warranty problems from themfor that & any little mod I have.

I suppose I could throw stock airbox back on then take it in but Ihave a y-pipe & bullydog tuner on the way & would love to throwthem on asap & not worry about Nissan seeing it.

Also would be nice if there was another place cheaper as well.

Well, how's this for dealership warranty issues?

I had my Sentra 1.8 decked out with an aftermarket header and Magnaflow cat, $5 SRI intake, custom catback, but they didn't complain about that, they instead stressed that I get the scheduled maintenance done on my car i.e. transmission flush, coolant flush, injectors cleaned etc. Haha. I hope my head gasket doesn't fail, because I'm about to pass 60k miles on it (in just under 3 years...).

Blake posted a while ago how to do it by yourself, but otherwise I do not believe there is anyone else that can perform the service - the CVT fluid is for the most part propritary to Nissan, and you're going to most likely have to get the fluid from them anyway....

The fluid does not necessarily have to be changed at 30k - there is a system that analyzes the CVT and the fluid to determine if it needs to be replaced....of course if you have a shady dealer they'll tell you yes, but if you can find a good dealer around to ask them to see if it needs to be changed, that would be helpful in saving $200...

I would wait until the factory recommended interval (60k i think). Apparently these CVTs are very sensitive to contamination, so changing the fluid might actually make the transmission more susceptible to failure if you get lint or something in there.

Just be careful when you're messing around with it - Nissan knows these things are a little delicate and will probably try to screw you on any warranty work if they find out you changed the fluid yourself or with another shop.
