for who those custom make their exhaust and downpipe .I am planning to use a Flex pipe right after the downpipe, there are two kinds? I will used both pic1 and pic2 , would you recommand to put them on? would it take the heat?

I will use the part of the Flex pipe for my downpipe and theN I will run it to a solid pipe all the way to the back, but between that I will add a Stainless steel braid Flex pipe in between. my question is , would those Flex pipe take the heat right after the turbo ?

the first one is much better and you need to use that one. the second one looks like its made of aluminum and is not intended to use on a car, (looks like its the one they use with dryers)

the second one I found in here http://shop.airflowonline.com/...e=FET that site looks like a automotive store, I may be wrong thou, anyhow, I know i will use the first one. if I can use the second one , that would be SO much easlier, i want to see if the second one would work as well

the second one isn't strong enough to use in the downpipe.

the second is more of an intake than an exhaust

isn't flex pipes for front wheel drive cars? Just not sure if you have a 240sx.

it is a must on fwd cars, but there was a discussion on FA on how having a flex pipe in the downpipe might actually prevent turbo manifolds (mainly tubular) from cracking. it makes sense if you think about it. as the engine rocks side to side, all the stress is placed on the weakest point, the manifold welds. having a flex pipe may relieve this.
