I belive this is a cusco shifter...I bought it from a guy for $70... he didn't know what he had.

He thinks this is a Cisco and I belive it because I have not seen any shifters like this. I posted the pic up a while ago to see if anyone could recognize it but everyone said it def. is not a OBX or some cheap kind...in any case I installed it last night..

I love the way it feels.. It is notchy and very firm. It does however diliver more noise into the cabin. BUT it decreased the throw by like 40%-50%.. It feels very very solid and strong. it has a little hum while reving up but with the wind howeling and my radio blasting.. can't notice at all...

overall: I would say Great bang for my money =) (got very lucky with the price). I would recomend it even if you had to pay full price!!!

one more thing... the installation was a breeze! nothing to it at all.. just get the step by step procedure from zilvia... I might do the same for us...

I've felt a Cusco shifter on an S13 SR20, and I've felt a B&M on an S14 KA24, and I must admit, the B&M was on a whole other plain compared to the Cusco. I'll check out yours on Saturday.

Anyway, don't lay another hand on your car until Saturday. Can't have you breaking anything.

Hmmm.. Is there anyway to counter act that noise? I'm sure there's a remedy for it. Maybe you could wrap it up or something. I'm planning on going with a B&M shifter anyways, because I think Cusco stuff are a little hard to come by for the right price. Anyways, hopefully I can make the meet. All my friends are Honda lovers and I don't think they would want to roll down with me.

Word has it that the sound your short shifter makes is directly proportional to the condition of your motor/transmission mounts. If they are dying, the sound will be worse. Nismo mounts for everyone!

its prob the metal resonating (my best guess) try spraying it with that liquid sound dampener that comes in an aerosol can, or you could put some type of insulation on it. maybe foam tape?

that's what i was thinking. I know cusco does not go for 70 bucks regardless of how dumb the seller maybe.

Why is everyone such *****s about the sound? Who cares. It's not that bad and having modifed car you should be used to funny sounds!

ok, so y don't u go get one of those big canned mufflers that supposedly increase like 10 hp and have it vibrating in your ear while u cruise along all day?:D Maybe you don't mind the noise, but maybe other people do. Its just preference. For me, my car is a daily driver. I drive that thing everywhere, long distance, short distance, and car pooling. Yes, a modified car is expected to have additional noise vibrations here and there, but the point is to keep it minimal and thats y i'm asking different people's experience w/ specific products. Payce..:thinker

hmm....this is what OBX looks like:

and this is what mine looks like:

Does that look EXACTLY the same? not to me... and I still can't tell if it is a C's or Cusco and form what people told me they look the same so I did get hell of a deal for what it turned out to be was $78. =)

I read the tanabe transmission mount bushing set can quiet that sown depending on some applications.

I know someone who had a rattling stick shift and when you touched it the rattling would go right up yuur arm and down your back. I think they tried using electric tape wrapped around parts of it to silence it up some.

There is also a thread here that shows the tanabe mount interferes with the shifter install with some makes. Be sure and research this by looking at the undergound shifter thread in the specials forum. The shifter they sell is similar in design to the shifters other companies sell.
