god thats ugly. looks like a futuristic car in the movies. the cube wont have enough power to haul anything other than daily items. trucks are built for a reason...this is like a knockoff truck...

Actually I kind of like the look, although it would be pretty usless as a truck in general.

Now why would anyone customize a Cube into a pickup and not mold in the back doors, now that aspect looks terrible.

If I were to do the conversion to a truck, I would atleast leave the rear seats there so can have extra passenger space when needed. It is kind of like a convertible for the rear passenger.

got to agree with you square 1, and others for that matter, but i did own a volkswagen rabbit pickup diesel that i converted to a gas powered 1.8GTI model using a rabbit GTI for parts... the conversion was amazingly easy except the fuel lines, returns/ tank/ etc. but the body kit went on flawlessly including rear flares, lowering suspension (except the rear , which was easy to height match)wheels, and rear bumper...wish i still had pics of it.these kinds of conversions can be done, but this is a whole nother level, and yeah the rear doors should have been shaved. but hell, they are ahead of us with the converts on this model,... so we should look and learn, and improve!i want to do a ragtop version, a-la the old vw bus with a full canvas top that slides back to the back... now that would be badass.

i looked at the other thread on this, and as far as the "go a couple inches lower" argument, you'd have to lower the top rear hinge, and for anyone who has ever done this kind of work, knows that this would add a LOT of money to the convert, i'd figger 1,000 dollars or more to do it right, so, if deciding to keep that hinge height, i'd see that drop point as kind of "fixed " for that body configuration, especially for a comercially available "kit". any other ideas?

That's exactly what I thought when I first saw pictures of those things. Really bad oversight, I'd say. The door handles are still sitting there screaming "this is a crappy hackjob!"
