The Cube Denki would be in my garage if it was possible! Just look at all that roof real-estate available for PV cells!

So far with over 9000 miles on my Cube, here is the data that I've kept updated. I've also been putting in the notes for recent tanks what the computer readout stated as my average MPG for that tank, it isn't very very accurate...

http://www.cleanmpg.com/index....=3076

I also do not overfill the tank by topping it off. I quit the fueling process at the first click of the nozzle.

There was one thing on there though were I got 21mpg and the next tank was 37 mpg, that was due to a pump malfunction where it overfilled the tank.

I'm getting at least 30 mpg city. I feel like I'm never at the gas station.

Haha, I feel the same way. I went from a Dodge truck getting 14 mpg in the city to the Cube getting 28mpg in the city.

The Dodge only had an 18 gallon tank, I practically had a gas pump with my name on it! lol Now with the Cube, I'm having gas pump withdrawals.

I am getting about 27.7 city and highway. But the highway trip is mostly big hills and traffic lights with the speed limit being 65. I am contantly always 10 over.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Hi All,

I now have a little more than 1,100 mile on my 1.8SL with CVT and have only filled up 3 times so far, but here are the stats . . . .

100% stop and go city driving (metro Phoenix area)

calulated MPG / Dash Display MPG1st tank 31.097 / 29.12nd tank 32.699 / 37.33rd tank 34.769 / 36.9

This is my first experience with a CVT and it truly is a different beast. I keep the dash display on the real time MPG setting and am constantly monitoring it. I notice that the slightest change (1/4") in accelerator pedal position can change the display from low 20s to low 50s MPG.I'm still playing around trying to find the right ratio of RPM, torque and rate of acceleration. So . . . . driving style is the single most influencing factor.

The car I drove for the last 6 years (2003 Pontiac Vibe/Toyota Matrix) was EPA rated for28 mpg city, the same as the Cube. I always got between 31 and 32mpg. My wife drives it now and only gets 24mpg. Again . . . driving style. So far I'm well pleased with the results and think I will continue to see improvements.

Good luck with it,Guy

My experience with Nissan has always been that they get better milage than they are rated for (at least for me - could be just my driving conditions)Anyway, just on my 3rd tank on my 1.8 and so far Ive gotten just a hair under 32 MPG - that's about 40% heavy traffic / city and 60% open highway.

We purchased ours in Dec and I haven't reset the MPG setting since it was new. We're getting our first service today and it has right at 5000 miles. It's the CVT transmission and we drive on rural (40 to 45 MPH) roads and have made numerous turnpike (70+ MPH) trips.

Our MPG right now is exactly 35! Seriously!

The best I did so far is, and I have to say, in extremely good condition with a strong wind in the back that day, is 42 mpg, on the cruise control at 105km/h (65 mph) on the highway.

Driving on mostly rural roads, and maybe a few miles in town as a rule for the first 2,300 miles has the milage indicator stuck on 34.3 mpg. No heat or air usage, several hundred miles of bucking 40 mph headwinds, traveling rarely over the speed limit. last tank averaged 32.4 mpg.

Most fun I've had with this car is watching the expressions of people checking the cube out at traffic lights and parking lots. They really seem to like the pinstriping and 'Flying Toaster Edition' decals I have applied to the front doors and rear bumper.

My best is 34.9, my worst is 28.6. This is calculated CVT all around driving.

I don't understand how you guys are getting 32 - 40+ mpg. It makes no sense to me.

I'm not a hot-rodder, but I don't poke along either. Every day, I travel 100 miles on the highway at 75mph, and another 18 miles in town between 30-40mph. According to the Cube's computer I'm averaging 43mph and 28.4mpg. I also log my mileage at every fill-up through Gas Cubby on my iPhone. According to that, I'm averaging 26.78mpg which matches almost perfectly with my Scan Gauge II.

I've had my Cube since new. It had 50 miles on it when I got it back in January. It's now June and I have 11,620 miles on it, so I have had plenty of time to try many different driving techniques, including many different shift points. No matter how I drive, I get pretty much the same mpg.

All of this typically adds up to somewhere between 270 to almost 300 miles per tank, depending on when I gas up. The most gas I have ever put in was 11.5 gallons, but is usually around 9.5 - 10.5 gallons.

Seriously,
I have read these outlandish mileage claims since I bought my '09 Moss Green CVT Cube new last August. I can only barely break 30 mpg on "highway only" trips. Usually its in the 28 range whether "stop and go city" or suburban mix. Did we break our cubes in incorrectly? Something else? There seems to be two camps here, the 27ish types like me and the over 32ish types. Why the diffs????

It really depends on how your drive and maintain your cube. I range from 24-35MPG depending on where and how I drive and my total average right now is about 26MPG though. I can tell you that larger sized wheels from stock really decrease gas mileage. anything above 70mph gets low mpg for me.

I avg 27 with normal every day driving. If I pretend to give a s*** about the environment for some reason one month, I can get about 32.

I have 6000 miles on my 2010 cube CVT

MPG at 57 mph on cruise is 35 mpg after subtracting 2 mpg from the display
mpg at 70 mph on cruise 30.4 mpg after subtracting 2 mpg from display.

Big difference , if this is more than most are getting I will tell you how I did it but the 70 mph mpg seems low
will it go up after a 10,000 mile break in?

Just shy of 31 mpg the weekend before last traveling between here & Jacksonville FL on I-95, including some in- & around-town driving in Jacksonville.

We were there for the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance -- a fancypants classic & antique car show. (Did not see on display any Cubes or Nissans or Datsuns. So it goes.)

That's pretty good mileage on the Cube. Got any pics of that car show? We appreciate all vehicles, even if it isn't a Nissan/Datsun. :mike

Good Mornin' to all that see this. Here in the flat land of Kansas my wifes '11 Cube S w/CVT gets about 29.5 mpg city runnin' the A/C thru the first three tanks of fuel. We enjoy the little car and it's something of a rarety here in Wichita. I'm looking to make improvements to the power train to boost the milage but aftermarket performance parts are hard to come by. Any info in on that subject would be helpfull.
