When I checked those switches the first time, all I looked at was that they were making contact with the pads. When I looked at them again, I screwed them in one turn so that the button sat just a tad further out towards the pedal. That seems to be what corrected the issue.
I looked up the part on a nissan dealer site, nissanusa. And i matched that part number with the one from Rockauto. Looks like its a match. Same switch for a bunch of years of nissans. I ordered it, as I've had pretty good luck ordering from them when I order the right part to begin with. So, we'll see how that works out. At least its an easy fix if that's all it needs.centralcoaster33 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2017 12:29 pmHmm, for pedal switches, I'd go dealership or pick-n-pull and get it over with. You could go for new parts online, but run the risk of a mismatch. Rock Auto is cool and I think they'll use your VIN to confirm a match, but I don't recall. Maybe car parts stores like O'Reilly's and Autozone have those. You can bypass the switches, but would loose some function (like auto off of cruise when braking) so I don't really recommend that. Maybe have a working switch on the brake pedal and not the clutch. You'll get a rev reminder when putting in the clutch while in cruise if you don't manually cancel. That's better than forgetting when hitting the brakes. When you install them, check your pedal movement and use the measurements in the FSM. Yes, actually measure. That will ensure that your don't squish your new switches and brake them with your pedals.
I'll remember that. I went and purchased a new switch, and it arrived over the weekend. Ironically, since I've gotten the new one in the mail, the one already in the car has started working again. Ha. Ha ha.centralcoaster33 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2017 3:11 pmOh, okay. Well, you probably won't have to mess with pedal adjustment so much. Just screw in the switch far enough that it gets depressed when breaking, but doesn't bottom out, like, you'd be able to push it in just a hair further if you put something between it and your pedal...
That's actually what it felt like when i crawled under to check it out. Felt like it didn't want to retract. The new one looks like it should fix me up.centralcoaster33 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2017 10:40 amMaybe the switch has sticky internals, so the new one will work more reliably.
