We call them "unmarked". I'm not aware of many unmarked cars (probably because they're unmarked), maybe he was a detective -- they usually have unmarked squads. So Skim302 may have just given the cop reason to follow. He just lucked out.frankohabs wrote:no ghost cars in the States?
by "ghost cars" would you mean a police car without the traditional markings? The police here do use unmarked vehicles, but they are rarely used for traffic enforcement.frankohabs wrote:no ghost cars in the States?
not true. Here in northern maryland, on 95 the state police have unmarked like 05-07 mustang gt, dodge magnum, and a dodge charger... all unmarked and from what i saw, no spotlights... it feels wierd to say somethingt like "damn that cop car is NICE!"kcourtad wrote:but still you can spot them no matter what by... the lights in the back and there are alwas spot lights on them too... i see them all the time...
These friends probably also think that if you can dodge a cop until you get home and turn off your car while you're drunk, you can avoid a DUI.Skim302 wrote:And another thing. I told some of my friends about it and one of them said that they are not allowed to give you a speeding ticket if you are already in YOUR driveway and your car is off. I dont really believe it but I didn't know if it was ture or not.
Be careful, then, when visiting our state of NC! In this area, vehicles can be confiscated in drug cases, and many show up on the road around here as unmarked vehicles after having inconspicuous grill, rear and window lights added. You never can tell who's around you!Great White Versa wrote:The police here do use unmarked vehicles, but they are rarely used for traffic enforcement.

very true, but in pa at least, if he is following you without his lights on yet to pull you over, and its 2 miles or more after the incident he cant ticket you for itEver Victorious wrote:
Cop can ticket you on your own property. Depending on how far you have to go to get there, and if he's been following you with lights on, you might just also get arrested for eluding.
VERY Observant - meant to say 283 V-8, the 302 was in my 70 Ford Mustang - - mind f - - t!!White Comet wrote:did you swap a ford engine in, or am i missing something?
