I recently got a 2007 Nissan Sentra 2.0 for my wife. We've had it a bit over a month and have not had any problems, aside from a creaking/clunking noise coming from the passenger front suspension.

I took a look, and sure enough, I found that the strut spring was shifting about 1/2 an inch at a specific point in turning the wheel to the left...causing the noise. I checked the bolts in the engine bay...all tight.

On top of this, last night driving home, the car started to bog on acceleration. I also noticed that the indicator on the dash panel gauge wasn't showing the normal P, N, D, or L...it had disappeared. I turned the car off and back on during one of these episodes and the indicator re-appeared and the car drove normally....until I used the brakes. Every time I pressed the brake pedal, the indicator disappeared, until finally it stayed off.

So, any input here would be appreciate....not much knowledge in these things. I did search the boards for similar problems but didn't come across anything...if I missed something, please just direct me there.

Thanks in advance.

Does it still have a warranty?

If so your better off seeing the dealer.

Any Check Engine Light Codes?

I wish it did. 61k, so just out of powertrain too. The only warranty left is the 120k CVT warranty. Sounds like it's gonna have to go back through the auction (where I got it from).

By the time a dealership gets done with me on this I'm sure I'll be replacing the entire electrical system, engine, and anything else out of warranty....putting me into as much debt as the car is worth!

Your electrical problems could be related to a faulty IPDM. Have the dealer check it, it's not an expensive part to replace if that is the problem or you could probably pick on up at the junkyard for a lot cheaper.
