This one popped up again. I think the guy was previously asking $4k. It really doesn't look like too bad of a pickup for parts, but I seem to be lacking a couple of the essential items to jump on it. You know... space, money, etc... the little things.

I don't have the post anymore but I just picked up a clean title 1990 TT 5 speed with 116k original miles and the kid just had all the services done with paper work. Turbos don't smoke, has original tt wheels. Interior is not the best, but I got the car for $3700. I am beyond excited to start building this car!

His first name is Billy (bottom of the posting). Looking through the pictures, what are the odds his middle name is Bob?

Billy must be smoking something if he thinks he's getting 12k for that car.

So sorry to hear this!
We've all been there (tickets and a Z32), it's easy to be having too much fun and not watch the speedo. However this isn't just a Z32 specific problem, so I'd concentrate on personal control and keep the Z32 instead!

:chuckle: :werd:
I thought the same, and it took a $285 ticket and the PURE luck the pacing plane somehow missed me passing 100 mph several times during a 15 mile blitz down a WIDE open Snoqualmie Pass, back in '04, to "allow" myself to stop speeding...too often.
I now find that those few times NO ONE is around suffices, even if it's just a 20 second rush...

Pacing plane? good god that's some police state kind of stuff. Cops here let you go 80 before they'll even think of stopping you, 90 if you're on a toll road.

Yep, I was also a bit surprised when the officer (VERY professional, and actually polite) mentioned it as an indicator of my chances to beat the ticket in court. He indicated the plane had me at 97 several times and a high of 99 mph, and he also noted if I had hit 100 or more then I was looking at reckless driving (higher fine, defensive driving course) and impound of my car. As far as I knew I was at 100+ most of the way, and figured MAYBE they felt charitable since I'd not wrecked or hit anyone.
However this was WAY back in 2004, and as you say they aren't quite so quick nowadays on major highways with tickets as I found driving my TT home after buying it in SF in 2013, and following a Caddy at 80-100 mph from outside SF to the Washington border. But in the Pacific NW we DO have a lot of patrols around the towns and cities, and still quite a few speed trap scenarios to avoid since our police aren't state-funded like most everywhere else due to our state tax structure, and they recoup funds this way plus confiscations from drug and other busts.

Ok so when i had my bike 5 cops where chasing me and i didnt know. when i made a turn i saw lights reflecting in the mirror looked back and was like s*** ok. i stopped immediately all 5 of them surrounded me. mind u just lights no sirens. needless to say i explained i didnt know u where back there, which i didnt. they gave me just a careless driving. i took that as a sign and sold the bike. now this past weekend im hauling a** in the z in the burbs slow a** oregon drivers cutting through traffic. finally in my mirro i see 2 cop cars catch up to me so i pull over get the usual bs how fast and such and get another careless driving ticket. so again i am taking this as a sign. i always speed ive had easily over 30 tickets and im 40. pay the tickets whatever i figure what i get caught .1% of the time. so now i am taking this recent careless driving ticket as a sign. so now im trying to sell the Z.

Ahh, I see...definitely a problem with that many tickets, they will be looking for you and even if not actively then they will definitely react to phone-in's from motorists plus as I have also found, we are easy to find in our sexy beasts.
Sad to have to move on to a new vehicle to avoid the extra attention, which will help, but only until the next speed session and a ticket and then you are back on the watch-for list with the new licence number...been there, done that in my early days. Had one cop actually be somewhat cool and not ticket me one day during that period (5-6 speeding tickets in about 2 months), and instead set me up for a missed traffic ticket court date I'd missed, along with that info I just shared as a "warning" about further speeding with my current car at the time. Then about 7 years ago right after moving to Tacoma again I got pulled over for expired tabs, no ticket after explaining I'd JUST moved and therefore missed the mail-in tab form in the mail, but the cop also took the opportunity to share other info regarding how they watch for certain cars (he said no ticket because I wasn't who he thought I might be; but also said they were looking at all white Z32's) and so instead we sat and talked about my Z which he really liked.
Anyhow, sort of fun telling these stories but I feel bad that this will cost you the fun and "fame" of having a Z32.

That's GTR money. Aaaand there have been multiple Z32s with similar mileage and in showroom conditions that have sold over the last couple years on BaT and other outlets for less than half the asking price. SR Auto Group must be smoking crack in the back office posting prices like this. Its not even a rare color combo. It is very clean though. In today's market I'd say the non-crack pipe price is around $30k USD.
