WHY are all the DPMs on the market 2+2s?

In the last line of his ad, he says he has over $7500.00 "invested." Or in other words, he could have just said "I'm an idiot."

^I was thinking the same thing... along with both cars being complete. Well, as complete as they can sans engine and transmission. Sadly, it's a fairly typical CL car posting.

This one actually looks pretty clean. Just about double the price of what it should be, though. Hey, if he can get it, good for him.

Maybe since it's a 2+2 he figured that means you also double the asking price?

We don't get too many Z32s that pop up around here, but here's one somewhat nearby that left me scratching my head a little. I mean, 845hp is something else but still seems a little steep:

WELL...so, a "1998" Z31 and a Z3 had an abortion I see!
Glad they got the mess from the birthing process cleaned up before the pics, that combined with the "baby car" would have been a true gak-fest indeed.

Been a slow Z32 winter around here for once, but now a few new additions to the "for sale" community:

DEFINITELY a high price asked here, but a very well-sorted TT-swapped car with everything newer except the body/chassis. Possibly the only 2+2 I sorta like the look of. But listed at $23K+, the owner obviously wants to recoup for the $45K (say, WHAT?) he says he invested, and he lists everything:
https://seattle.craigslist.org/est/cto/ ... 07777.html

Another comprehensively restored car here, and probably the better deal compared to above if with less $$$$$ and work done...but for a little bit only however, as the owner also mentions the $23K range. Where do they get that number for a 22 year old car???? It does have a complete OBD1 engine swap into the '96 and more, but not sure this actually increases the value. Anyway, enjoy this spend-fest:
https://seattle.craigslist.org/est/cto/ ... 34684.html

Just for fun check out this GEM listed in the Great White North. If I had the $18-20K the above guys are asking for I think I'd be looking at this car instead. Not wanting to ruin the surprise, enjoy this woodie-inducer, if without extra pics (hint- you could use the new car brochure...):
https://victoria.craigslist.org/cto/d/v ... 14644.html

This one has been for sale for nearly a year now as indication of the interest around here for $20K+priced Z32's, a fine car but hugely overpriced as seems to be the trend these days. I see a low mileage restoration here anyone could do for the 1/2 the price and done, so why pay the salesman for someone else's work?:
https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/ctd/ ... 40079.html

Nice car here although I'm not a fan of Aztec Red, and I'd not pay over $9K knowing that there's $2-3K waiting most likely to be spent. Who knows though, only a visit and talk would tell the tale:
https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/ ... 80096.html

Last up, the $2,600 silver Z32 that caught my eye as the pics made it look Azure blue. Can't see why the asking price is so reasonable except some interior parts peeling and probably 120K service needed, as maintenance needs are mentioned, but if I had $2,500 I'd be on my way to see this one:

I guess it's good for us if some of these guys manage to get anything even remotely close to their asking prices, but yeah, a bit delusional. I still think mine was a lucky catch my TT at $7500 and was worth the hassle of flying to Cincinnati to go get it (about 98% stock, garage kept by original owner), even with the need for the timing belt, a new clutch and dealing with a minor oil leak. At least the clutch is still good enough to not slip in 1st gear - tires slip first ;)

We just don't see much Z32 sales around here. Even if I look as far as Baltimore or New Jersey, they're typically beaten to hell and often come with the, "runs great, but doesn't hold boost..."

I am about to get into the timing belt, along with some deletes. I had the joy of pulling the front fascia off this past weekend and have started removing the AIV guts. I'll finish that, and also pull the carbon canister and most likely the PRVR while I'm at it. As good as a nearly untouched stock TT is, the drawback is that it's untouched - cosmoline galore and super-brittle plastics (yea, I'm talking to you, boost sensor tubing), although the cold garage doesn't help much there. Even with whatever frustration, I love getting to know the car. I can't wait to have it up to 100% and start looking seriously into bumping up the boost a little.

I have noticed that there seem to be a lot more Z32s above the Mason-Dixon line, I guess when these were selling at dealers the South was still all about f-bodies and small blocks. Also I belong to a number FB Z32 groups and I see Z32s getting parted daily which makes me sad because there are less and less of them on the road but also happy since that means the LP2 I'm trying to sell is just creeping up in rarity and price.

Yeah Anton, I have also noticed that we have a VERY large Z32 community around here if that's the right term, Nissan Z cars have always been popular and the Z32 seems to have sold well at least around here. I have two or three just around my neighborhood and see one almost daily just around and about, but as mentioned (and seen in ads) too often they are in very rough shape.

Back to the Finds...
Just for balance and to show not EVERYONE thinks they have won the lottery owning a Z32, here's one that posted today more along the lines of Woodnutz78's nice deal- a good solid car for a good, solid price. Note that the maintenance has been very thorough with this car and it even has won a prize at a car meet- different wheels and exhaust are all I would do to this car:

That's a decent find, Dave. Even with the miles up a little, someone will scoop that up quickly. Definitely helps that he appears to be on top of his maintenance. I think with mine, it was a combination of the gentleman getting older coupled with the fact that it was due for $2000+ in paid maintenance work ona a car he doens't drive - I'll cut that in more than half by doing it myself.

They are scarce around here. Granted, Greencastle, PA isn't exactly a bustling metropolis (Nolimit, figure Katy about 20 years ago, but on its own, if that helps as a reference), but since I caught the bug about a year ago, I've only seen two on the road. One of which was a roughed-up at one of those auction-dealer lots. It actually was the one that stirred up my interest to begin with... then the search began. I tell you what, though - it's pretty cool having a car that no one around here sees.

Definitely cool having a car that most can't identify. Love getting confused/interested looks from people when I go to the grocery store.

I have to admit that it seems pretty cool to have a car that really isn't seen in your area. Problem I learned about there however is as a kid who did NOT do well with the Law, they always knew right where to find me since there were no other Kelly Green, 1967 Mustang Fastbacks around my town. I guess I've had that going on a bit throughout my life as I like obscure and hard to find cars, and have had several that have not had many/any others like them around. But I think that the longest I owned a car before my first Nissan Z car was MAYBE 2 years.
BUT, as a kid I drove a '74 260 that was brand new as my first-ever drive (unknown to my relative, the owner... :poke: ) around the block and some, and that experience never went away even though I was a die-hard Ford Mustang big block guy and owned two '67 fastbacks growing up. The second was a GTA, pretty complete and with a built 390 and I also found a SB clone of it for my GF at the time that we fixed up.
But as I grew older the lack of true handling (OK, more like LOTS of speeding tickets) in American cars became an issue for me and I decided in early 2000 to go back to Nissan. After a decent Z31 I'd found for cheap was wrecked by a kid and his gramma's SUV in early 2003, I'd seen this '90 NA Z32 at a lot close by and remembering the awesome wraparound interior and the TV ads (Ken/Barbie, racing the jet, etc.) I decided to check it out since it was NA and at the time I did not do turbo, and was totally against it actually. I did some pricing/reliability research and then gave it a drive and that was that- BEST car I'd been in hands down. It had a red interior which at first I was a bit :gotme but then grew on me. I bought it that day and drove it until it died (112K to 234K miles!) in 2009. I was a mobile custom interior carpenter at the time, it was comical watching the other guys as I unloaded the Zcar for work and they watched in envy- no truck for me! I miss the NA though badly, especially the interior, and still am trying to get some of my red interior parts into the mix- my current interior re-do will include more red parts as best possible and tasteful.
So I've been driving a Z32 now for the last 16 years, wow, how time flies by!

So back to the Finds...
This has been around for awhile also, not surprising IMO as it probably is the poster child for what NOT to do to your Z32 even though everyone wants to be different. Different does have limits...I just LOVE the electronics installation :spitout:  :

Here's a very rare Z32 (slicky TT, RHD) with a matching price, but it also is a good study of what to look for and how value and pricing often do not match up well (a local phenomenon primarily found in Belleview, Wa.) under close inspection. LOTS of small items needing TLC at least, and a cloth interior do not add up to a $38K car under any circumstances IMO, regardless of the pedigree of the car:

Referring to the previous weeks post -

That is the ultra-rare "Tuxedo edition" Z ! (You're supposed to be wearing a tux (with tails) when you're ridin that Z!)

But its the well thought out placement of gauges and other electronica that really pull it all together !

UGH !!!!!

Heyyyyyyy...... isn't that the car from Fast & Furious - Texas Drift !

Oh baby..... wish I had an extra 80K to blow on that gem !

That fart can about an inch off the ground, and that totally awe-inspiring wing, places that vehicle right up there with other high-end sports cars.

A little sidetrack here as since 2020 is getting closer, the R33 GTR is about to become legal. This one here would make my millenium as it checks ALL of my boxes, although my bank account would never support it:

@DCaff300ZX That is one clean a** GTR! I would cop for sure but it's the same problem with me lmao. This one isn't a 300zx but still very cool, and definitely a bucket list car of my (for now) imaginary garage:

https://stlouis.craigslist.org/ctd/d/mi ... 61056.html

Oh yeah, Dcaff, the Z32 slicktop twin turbo you found on craigslist isn't listed for 38K. Whoever posted that is catfishing pretty much. it's not even in Seattle either. It's a car being sold for 16K in Florida by an importing company called HPLogic. They have their own website and all that and they're also on youtube, and are friends with RicerMiata, TommyFyeah, AdamLZ etc. The link is:
