Maybe just me; but i find this funny as hell. This is a posting in Minneapolis Minnesota. Gets a little cold here in the winters. And, winter is coming soon ... leaves have turned, and leaves are already falling. So, a craigslist search for "300ZX" pulls up the usual listings and then this one:

https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/ ... 83109.html

Top of the ad says "Local Reput-" which might imply a truncated "reputation" as in "Local Reputation." Location says METRO area which normally would mean Minneapolis or suburbs. No phone listing. Just a send us an email. Yet, those don't quite look like Pine trees!

It 's been repainted, its #69 for North America (not really anything special), it has aftermarket exhaust, its a driver so I would say the value is well overstated but the guy can dream. Overall its a really clean car, definitely one of the better examples out there.

These ads always crack me up as the owner makes claims as if they're "really, really into it" with their Z32 and "know everything that matters". He says untouched as if unmodified, which would be a selling point of sorts but then goes on to detail the aftermarket wheels and exhaust, and leaving out the respray and surely more...DEFINITELY not an untouched OEM Z32.
The car simply has what any serious, reasonable wannabe-Z32 owner would want and need to even consider buying the car. It isn't a sort of Unicorn or special vehicle in ANY way, but simply a $9K-$10K Z32TT waiting for the owner to realize this and become reasonable, or keep the car. Mine years ago was listed similarly and was purchased for $8.8K, probably the same true value this car has.

I mean, considering what type of horrific/potentially nice things people have done to their Zs, this one is pretty untouched, other than the few changes.

Very true, just the owner goes on as if he has something really special when he really doesn't- lots of people take this level of care with their car and even moreso, so really he is seriously overplaying a pair of deuces so to speak is all I'm saying.
Nice car to buy, just not valued were the owner wants.

To my and DCaff's point, someone should show that guy this car: https://dallas.craigslist.org/mdf/cto/d ... 42084.html relatively
low mileage, original paint, everything up to date and the overall description is obviously by someone who knows a thing or two and isn't a dreamer. Oh yeah, also its 1/3 the price.

^^^^Great example, NoLimit!

Here's another example of a dreamer and person who really doesn't seem to understand car values, and what makes a car worth a certain amount. Just because it's a RHD import with a current Wa, state title doesn't mean this thing is worth what another 2+2 TT could be worth or whatever the "going rate" for 2+2 TT's may be...see if you can pick out all of the value-decreasing "features" of this car, and come up with a reasonable price for this...

^$5k at best, with service receipts and after passing a PPI with a 100% score, that thing is ugly and needs LOTS of love.

I'm just going to leave this here.

Hmmm, fairly interesting although I must admit I am not up on Z31 values. I loved my Z31 (first Z car I've owned) and although not even close to the Z32 in all ways, is still a decent car and was fun to drive daily and got it's share of comments and love.
This one at the price listed concerns me however with the leakage or spill or whatever coming from under the dash on the carpet, and lack of underhood shots to begin determining the PO's cleanliness and repair habits. Obviously you'd contact the PO for more info if interested though...but for me this car tops out at about $5K value for me due to age and previous knowledge of the incredible hassles and costs involved in Z31 repairs if not able to DIY.
Anyone with Z31 skills be sure to speak up!

Yeah, I'd probably be in that range, too.
The car is very straight and exterior looks to be in pretty good shape, and to be honest the carpet would surely clean up or could be replaced in worst case and for not a lot of $ if there was no heater core issue, or windshield leak. The rest looked OK enough from the pics.
If the PO had receipts and had done proper maintenance then $6K would be in range, perhaps.

Here's a pretty good example of what you want to see when you are looking for a Z32, although the price here is a bit too high given the fact it's not a leather car, and it's NA...probably a $6K price max, I'd offer $5K and work from there if nothing else is wrong with it:

Here's another 2+2 TT car very much like the one we looked at earlier, the "unmolested" dreamer's car for megabucks over value.
This car has probably a bit more to offer and for a LOT less, the only downside is it's modded but at least the guy mentions this and explains things decently, if overplaying the 1 piece driveshaft (IMO) quite a bit. Our cars are old and the carrier bearing always fails like any other car's bearings/U-joints, but the repair is less cost than a 1 piece shaft, and repaired the OEM unit is just fine up to 600HP like anything else in a TT, if heavier. This car would be a good start for tracking, though, with a little more work.
Anyway, same basic car but two totally different prices between the two cars:

True...but with the 10+ grand you saved over the previous car, a 5 speed swap plus maintenance would certainly be in the cards, eh? :gotme
The car works perfectly (or claimed, you'd of course check things out) so anyone else would have plenty of time to accumulate the swap money, too. Best 2+2/TT used car price/car with maintenance I've seen this year for sure.

It feels like the Z32s popping up as of late are trash heaps while the Z31s I see are mostly minty.

There are a few nicely priced Z31s in Texas ATM
Clean, ready to roll: https://houston.craigslist.org/cto/d/zx ... 07016.html
Take 2, add a grand or so and some elbow grease, get 1 that will probably run: https://houston.craigslist.org/cto/d/80 ... 51679.html
Nothing special, but looks to be in good shape: https://houston.craigslist.org/cto/d/19 ... 20199.html
This one is a stunner: https://houston.craigslist.org/cto/d/ni ... 61525.html
And this is just a great deal: https://sanantonio.craigslist.org/cto/d ... 54058.html

A clean '95 with all of what you need in a used Z32, AND for a decent price! Needs a little work for top value, but the easy details work and not repairs:

Glad I looked at these AFTER I had breakfast! :spitout: Where do these guys get their prices????
The one with the "scratch" is a REAl jewel for sure...partout, anyone? :lolling:

Just for fun here's possibly the cleanest, most reputable Z32 I've seen in some time if with cloth interior....but it's located in the "Richie Richville" area of our state complete with a very unrealistic price- the original sale price basically!
Just have Daddy send them a check...:
https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/ctd/ ... 53250.html

Here's one from one of our local importers who have a ton of RHD Nissans in all flavors...decent clean car and a little surprised it's still around, although the price is a bit too high as usual with dealers and the options aren't the greatest...I wonder about the 120K service, maybe that's the issue and not only that, but a non-functioning odometer is a huge red flag:
https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/ctd/ ... 53250.html

Next, a nicely overpriced '90 NA/A/T model down from $12.5K to $10.5K. Wow, the Canadians REALLY know how to price 'em! Decent car if you like those wheels, just needs to come down to about $6K to even consider inquiring about it though:
https://victoria.craigslist.ca/ctd/d/19 ... 30315.html

FYI, here's what a scam looks like:
https://wenatchee.craigslist.org/cto/d/ ... 07842.html
ALL of the classic scammer-ese used here, hopefully nothing needs be said and everyone would realize what's up here. These people need to be strung up by their ballaz and beaten repeatedly about them.

And last and DEFINITELY least, this Canuckian jewel. This AWESOME '90 has been listed for MANY, many months with prices starting from $13K to the currently listed $16K.
"Triple the value" after 4 years!!!!! Must be those seats. Or that wing!
"Great on gas, better than my 4 cyl. Honda!" Oh Yeah, he's got the uber-rare mega-gas-mileage "sports edition", surely. Or, the wing again!
Just can't come up with the right words for this one...the ad and pics are hard to beat!
