Hey guys I posted a topic about choosing between the Sedan and Coupe a week or so ago.....I am still deciding but I drove an 04 Coupe today. Silver with black interior it was badass for sure. The only thing I notice is its certainly a bumpy ride. I expect that from a car low to the ground and with 18 inch wheels but I was wondering if anyone choose against the coupe because they felt the sedan rode smoother? I live in Missouri and we have s***ty roads sometimes so that is a factor as well. I didn't find it too bad, my Dad who is 48 said he wouldnt want a car like that now but when he was 25 he probably wouldnt have cared(he went on the testdrive with me)...he is also a former mechanic so he knows his stuff. Anyways I loved the feedback the first time and I figured I would see what you intelligent car owners had to say!

Well, I'm 38 yrs old and I bought the sedan because the coupe was wayyyyy to small on the inside. However, when I was 27 yrs old I bought a 350Z and loved every second of it. I actually feel like the sedan is very tight compared to the maxima I just sold.

so, i guess if your'e over 30, it's sedan for you? ... hey i'm 38, and i have a coupe... but then again. i have my runner for when i need space... seriously, you can't go wrong with either... coupe for looks, sedan for practicality... peace to all my sedan bros.

I'm 47 and traded a 05 G35 Sedan for my 04 G35 Coupe.And I love it!!!

I did test drive some 350Z's before getting the coupe and some of those were too bumpy (track edition & nismo) for me plus I wanted more room!

Oh, my G has 17 inch rims and 50 series tires which makes for a smoother ride.

Why not check out a G with 17s???

Can't image 18's making too much difference.

However, at your age I would be considering either a 350/370Z or a G coupe!!

And, wife has a 05 G35 Sedan.

I had a chance to compare a 2004 G35 6MT coupe, a 2008 G37 6MT coupe and my 1984 RX-7 on a brick road near the dealership. The G35 had 18" wheels and the G37 has 19" wheels. The old RX-7 had a live rear axle with 205-60/14 tires. On the bricks, the G35 was rougher than the RX-7 while the G37 was smoother.

The G35 would have been a real bargain. Only 4k miles and two thirds the price of a G37. However, after finding out how much better the G37 is, I could not have been satisfied with the G35.

A five year old G35 in decent condition is a good car. If that's what you can afford, it wouldn't be a bad choice. However, if you can afford an early G37, it would be a better choice. A way to make up the difference would be to keep your current car a while longer and save your butt off. The G37's price would be lower and your down payment larger.

^^^ depends on what you want. I think the G35's are more of a driver's car and a G37 is more of a rider's car....Not knocking the G37, but I think it started tipping the scales more toward the luxury side than performance, but just my .02

Difference in a new G37 and a slightly used G35 is about one third more. That's a $10K difference which imho is very significant.$10K would get you SC and other goodies....maybe even some leftover for your 401K

You need to pick what you like better...

I have 19's on my sedan and 40 series tires and think It is very smooth. I also have the sport package.

What are you driving in that you are comparing your ride to?

I'm sure he meant 300ZX.

To the OP...I think it depends on what you are buying the car for and how you live. If you don't have a lot of friends that you drive around in your car, I'd say get the coupe. If you have a family or plan to in the near future or if you always drive friends around then the coupe is for you.

The coupe is sexier...but the sedan is faster

I am sure he meant 300 z as the zx often was referred to as a simple extension to the z-series starting with the 240z.

I would say that a coupe without the sport package (6MT) would ride the same as the sedan. As for ride hight, both cars are fine for most roads...it's only when you lower the car that can get you into trouble with road conditions.

If you don't think that you'll use the back seat a lot, get the coupe. If you have kids or a need for the rear seat, get the sedan.

Oh man, the sedan is so much more practical unless you're single and don't plan on hauling friends & lots of stuff in your car.

I'm 35 and just got an 06 Coupe with 19"s and sport package and I love it. Yes, the ride is a little rough but it doesn't bother me that much. The performance makes up for it.

I figure I'll get a sedan when I have a nagging wife and brat kids....ummm...which will be never

Besides, for a "drivers" car, I want my suspension to be hard. Love this car to death. And it feels nice when the compliments come!

My advice, you're young, get a coupe. Save the 4 doors for when you're old and grumpy

i picked the G35 sedan over the g35 coupe when i was 23 years old... i liked the fact i could fit 4 people and larger items in my car, and it was faster than the g35 coupe. best of both worlds in my opinion. the g35 coupe does turn heads more than the g35 sedan.

then the g37 came along... it was a true upgrade from the g35 and my g37 sedan gets way way more looks than my old g35 sedan. when i say true upgrade i mean, new engine, new transmission, new body style, new interior, ect. and is faster than a g35. If you can afford a g37 get a g37.

which on a side note is why the new 2014 Q50 is kind of a dissapointment to me, as it is not a true upgrade to the g37, just a change in looks and more tech.

Infiniti needs to put a NA version of the GTR engine in a G coupe...400ish HP would be about right. The IPL is WAY overpriced for what it is and you don't get much more HP.

You all failed math...

He owned a 350z 10-11 yrs ago from now, which means it would have been a 2003 MY350z....
