Short and sweet......

freshly broken in KA24DE, new nissan thermostat, new nissan waterpump, new radiator. stock fan removed, Taurus SHO fan. I am using a temp sensor in the upper radiator hose to cycle the fan when the car is warm but the circuit is always hot so it will be running sometimes when the car is shut off, this is normal. however lately i have noticed that sometimes after the motor has been off for say 10min or so the fan will come on!! I have bled the coolant system free of air (far as i know) and i drove it just over 2k miles to ohio and back (i live in new orleans) over xmas with no issue. so i really dont think i have a blown HG or anything like that. but why is the fan coming on? why is it getting hotter in the upper radiator hose after the car has been shut off? should this bother me?

We are getting into the warmer time of year and when you shut your car off, its going to get hotter and trap excessive heat for quite a while due to no air circulating. For example during FL summers I can park my car at work all day for say 8 hours. When I get in it to go home, the engine still will not be dropped down to dead cold on the temp gauge. In other words, don't worry about it! The way you have it setup to turn on is cool, its just doing what you set it up to do.

yeah grilled cheese is right just think about it if your car isnt running then your coolant isnt circulating so it isnt cooling and its gonna heat up a little bit but not enough to worry about i would like to know a little about your cooling setup though i want to do something similar myself i just havent done the research on it yet did you buy a kit or what?

the setup is pretty trick actually. I have been meaning to do a writeup on it because its quite simple, guess today is the day.
