Seeing Howard's dash pic reminded me of this cool pic that I snapped. Funny, I posted this on Facebook and all my friends and even my KIDS thought it was real. Made me feel good that everybody would think that at 57 years old, I would drive through the city of Memphis @ 165mph and hold a camera/phone in the other hand.

:chuckle:

Teeheehee...I thought the shelves on the left would have given me away. My son said "mom, at least put your seat belt on".

:lolling:

It took me quite a few times to catch them like that.

When you crank the car, all the guages go all the way over like that. I don't know why. It is cool looking though. Took me quite a few times to catch them in that position.

I was in my Camaro once when they dynoed it. I took pics of the dash but I never got that roll of film developed (yes, that long ago). :tisk: Don't really know where that roll even ended up.

I have so many actual pictures from the past that are lost it's pathetic. I have one crappy shot of my '78 Cutlass and no pix of my '67 Camaro anymore. I welcomed the digital age and have my pix backed up and offsite in case my house burns down.

You had a '67 Camaro?

:eekdance

Of all the GM f-bodies I have owned, I have never had a 1st gen. :tisk:

I would die if I lost my photos and keepsakes and memos. I have had a really fun life. :)

Yeah, back in '90 I had a poor beat-up '67. It was out of NY so it was a rust monster. Supposedly the motor was recently rebuilt but it still blew some lifters after 6 months and eventually it lost some rings when I had the lifters fixed. I had it stripped to metal and sporting new SS Ralley wheels and BFG tires at the time. It was a fun car. Original paint was the dark navy blue with a white stripe on the nose. It was turquoise when I bought it....and full of bondo.

After the motor blew it was parked until one day I came home and it was gone. My first wife had sold it without me being asked....she sold it for $400 less than I still owed on it.

I'm glad you said "1st wife". I would have killed her.

Check out this baby at the auto museum Saturday. What a beautiful car.

'69 with hide-aways. nice.

Right before I purchased the '67 I had a coworker wanting to sell his '69. It had a solid primer body, mags, hide-away headlights, and 350 V8 in great condition (chromed out). He wanted about $1k more than I could afford so I settled on the '67 (which had the 250 straight-6 BTW). A month later he traded it in on a new car and settled with getting $500 less than I would have paid for it. I wanted to kill him....

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrg! Personally, I like the 67-68 more than the 69. Lot cleaner lines. I would take any of the 3 though. :yesnod

I like the '68 as it has side markers and no vent window. I like the '69 hide-away covers more than the 67-68's.
