Someone needs to PS in a roll cage there! You would be F-ED if this thing ever flipped!

I would say...you could do it for...10Gs...that is my guess. maybe $3k for parts and $5-$7 in labor. But it would HAVE to be one where it bunches in the back...ala Mini and VW Bug:

Oh, hell yea I agree when it is factory made, but do you know the time and energy it would take to fabricate that for ONE CAR!? You would have to completely change EVERYTHING from the doors back. One option though would be to not make it an automatic hardtop...just have 2 pieces you manually remove. Anyone want to make a T top Coupe?

I wasn't saying I would pre-fer the Mini/Bug look...I am saying I think that is the only way to make it posible without making it into something you would have to manually remove and walk around and place it in your trunk.

Phenom...DO IT!!! This would be SOOO much cooler then a bumper! Maybe $3K-$5k for this?

EDIT: Mehdi, can we get a commitment from you to make Phenom a cool "First in the world" sig if he does this??? That would be SOOO worth it!

EDITx2: Just thought of something, HEAD ROOM!!!!!!

lol we can't put targa tops on our coupes. my coupe also doesn't have a sunroof and i talked to surman about a targa top. We can't do it due to our doors. Our doors aren't made for convertibles, since the body curves around the window and is part of the door panel.

C'mon now dream smasher, you aren't getting the couch, let it go!

The door would all be part of the fabrication process...but that is a good point...if we turned this into a targa top...I think that was one of the qualifacations for many for a lambo door (nothing holding in the glass). Throw some lambos on it while we are at it!

top of the door could be sawed off and welded to the targa roof or the doors could be made frameless by cutting the top frame arround the glass and welding it to the car.

or even cheapers, have targa roof with the standard doors, still would be cool

thats usually not as easy as ur making it sound. afaik its not as simple as sawing off the top of the car.... for a roof thats one thing but not for doors.

But I think that would be called a "EXTRA LARGE Removeable Moonroof" basically...aka what we have already, but...bigger I guess...

i saw 212 motoring do a retrofit of a challanger and made it into a convertible, it came out good but i wouldn't trust those scumbags with a plastic toy car, let alone cutting a roof.

Everyone knows that cutting off the roof is the easy part. The hard part is reinforcing the body after you do it. And that cost thousands and adds tons of weight.

There is no way this makes any sense financially, unless maybe you picked up a salvage wreck for peanuts.

Just wait a few years; Nissan will probably come out with a 2.5SC/3.5SEC.
