Hi, i'm in the process of buying a new vehicle. i've had my eye on the infiniti g35 coupe for a long time. i'm upgrading from my 2000 integra type r, which i think i have outgrown, having just graduated from college. I live out in Washington and i see a lot of rain. I'm lookign for a 2005 or 2006 G35 6mt cuope and was wondering how it does in rain driving and i also tend to go snowboarding alot during hte winter, lets say at least once a week. How does the car do in rain, and how does it do in snow? Also, i was wondering why infiniti took off the brembo brakes for the new model? Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

The G35 is great in the rain, but that has to do with decent factory rubber more than anything else. As for snow...thats a different animal! You may want to consider the sedan with all-wheel drive for curvy mountain roads. Although the Coupe would be ok, in maintained (plowed) roads...Another option is to get a set of snow tires, which will give you much better traction. But again, if the snow is too high, you may have problems as the G sits low.

It is my understanding that they took off the Brembo brakes because they wore out much too fast. The new factory brakes are still very good, the car stops on a dime!

The coupe does not do well if there is more than a few inches of snow. I slid mine around the first winter I had it and since I have bought an old Jeep Cherokee to beat around in during the winter.

I have a non-Brembo AWD sedan. Handles very well in bad weather, definitely one of the better sedans on the road in the snow. The brakes SUCK, you will be replacing pads and rotors before 20K miles.
