None.

Power = money. The more power you want to make, the more money it will cost. Anything that is advertised as "cheap power" mods is likely a ripoff or a scam. About the cheapest thing you can get is a CAI, and that's $200 for MAYBE 5 HP or so.

that depends on "significant increase in power" and how you define it. How fast you want your car to go.

If you needed alot of power, you could pay someone to fab up a turbo system for your car. Spend several grand to increase your power up 30-50% or so. And then watch your engine blow itself to pieces prematurely.

Or, as Andrews suggested, you could go buy a car that has the power that you desire pre-engineered into it.

The Versa is never going to be a terror. You can spend some money and get SOME improvement in performance without major impact to its drivability or reliability, but to give it gobs of power... it'll be expensive, and may not last long.

Ic. I dont want to get a new car. I like the versa i think i just might make some minor changes in the future. Maybe just a CAI or a K&N filter. Maybe a new exhaust. My next purchase for the car is probably going to be a middle council and armrest from Nissan. Thanks for the input Ive had my V for about a year. So i dont know a whole lot about whats out there for it. Thanks again.

What sort of driving experience do you wish to improve in the Versa? top speed? 0 to 60 acceleration?

Remeber, Nissan built this car to be an econobox entry level car. You will need to spend big bucks for more power.

Just like in life, power and money usually go hand in hand. Expect to spend a good chunk for power you would actually notice. The best power to money ratio you would find in a turbo. However if done badly or not well thought out = boom. If you want noticeable power and keep it NA, from a 1.8L engine no less = really big bucks. Ex: Intake, header, exhaust, cams, internals, new ecu/piggy back and time to tune the car itself.

Remember this is a really small engine, its not like the v8s where $1000 bucks includes parts and labor (if you have a friend and you pay in beer ^_-) for a near 200+ HP increase. Take honda engines for example, they use F1 tech (from a decade ago) just to make the 100hp/L ratio happen.

Hope this puts it into perspective.

If you're driving a CVT - turn off the OD.
