Hey there 320 fans,

Working with Atabale on the 320 column shift transmission over the past week so thought I'd share a roll up list of parts that might come in handy as Spring is almost here.

Starting from the bell housing and working back

Gasket Front Cover - VB Part # 1-7411 just need a cut a small piece away
Clutch Lever Boot - VB Part # 9-1018 - make sure to use some oil/silicon when putting this over the fork
Gasket Side Cover - VB Part # 1-7001 - perfect match
Seal Oil Shaft (OE # 32884-00100) Go with Timken or National Part # 471466, same part number for either Timken or National, make sure to use a small amount of RTV on the outside to insure a good seal. Oh, both reverse and forward shafts are the same size so get two seal when ordering.
Ring felt (OE # 32885-00100) - go luck, re-use old (okay, maybe not) or just fill remaining space with RTV/Sealant
Drain plug -if you need one VB Part # 0-109 from the 55-59 MGA (sorry this is a change, 0-109 is the correct one)this one fits, make sure it's the allen key type, the hex head plug is to big. Oh, and there is no magnet to catch steel filings.
Rear Seal - a 520's will work - National Part # 710324.

Photo of Transmission and replacement gaskets and seals are here -

Atabale,

Finally got the forward and reverse shift levers off the shafts so I was able to remove the access cover. Sure enough. The reverse fork was out of alignment as well as the forward gear fork. Give me a couple of days and I post the pics and thread. Its an easy fix, just pull the reverse shaft out a little and plop it back into place. For the forward fork you will need to pull the gate assembly out a little and work the forward fork back into place.

I also ruined one the of the pins that secures the shift lever to the shaft, so I'll look for where to find one of these also.

As you are in SA, let me know if you have any specific questions on the parts listings if you are looking to purchase them locally.
