Color change on instrument panel

OK, so I'm still toying w/the idea of getting a J. Actually, I found one in Mobile, & I'm talking to my family about it, hoping that they will help me get it. Pics to come soon.

On another note, I was wondering is there a way to change the backlight color of the instrument cluster without installing a custom dash kit? I think the green looks good, but I kinda want a blue/white color to light up the speedometer/tachometer & other gauges.

take out the inst. panel and take out the bulbs. you will see that there are GREEN rubber covers on the bulbs. replace them with "BLUE" rubber covers. I think you can find blue ones (watch out for the right size) on 95+ MAIXMAs or I30s

i just took out the bulbs, and soldered some leds+resistors in place on the contacts. the color is kinda concentrated on the center. i saw a tutorial for a bike(i think it was a bike), where the guy used leds, and it was done in a circle formation under the display, the colors were nice and even, it looked good. i wanna try that.

yea, those dont work on j30's higher than 94. starting in the 95 models, they made one small change to the HUD cluster. the odometer, and trip odometer locations were changed.

I could see that in a Honda Civic or a Prelude, but not an Infiniti J30. Might look good, though.
