in the stuck thread about performance parts it lists a injen intake for a 2.5 altima but searches on the part number only list this as fitting the 2007. any ideas? anyone use this on a 2.5?

part number is SP1974P

it absolutely will. the engine compartment did not change.

also, it a warm air short ram intake, not a CAI

it's quite simple. warm air intakes allow your car to breath on the heated air inside the engine compartment.cold air intakes allow your car to breath on cooler air from outside your engine compartment thus giving you more power.

why does cold air give you more power, and does warm air intake give you any extra power?

cold air gives u more power than warm air but i dont belive it provides significant enough gains to warrant spending all the extra cash.

yes, it does. plenty of people on here have done it, but none are responding because it's not on the main 1st gen coupe forum and it's in the D-train/tuning forum.

also, cold air (depending on outside temp) will five you more power because cooler air is more dense and has more oxygen per volume. more oxygen + more fuel in the ignition chamber = more power. plain and simple. the injen will give you more/easier air flow giving you better throttle repsonse and a much nicer motor purr when you go beyond 3000rpm's, but the stock air box will give you cooler air because all of the air routed to your throttle body is from outside the engine bay. nobody as of yet knows which is better for performance because nothing has been tested on a dyno (don't believe the dyno claims by the manufacts because their most definitely rigged).

at the end of the day, i recommend the injen and enjoyed the added throttle response and exhaust note, but paying over 200 for possibly a mod that has xero proven performance gain is up to you.
