the black dust may be the paint coming off the coilpacks.. when they get old the paint just kinda dusts or flakes off..

spray carb cleaning on ur vaccum lines while the car is running and listen for a jump in idle.. if it jumps u got a leak

I have some stock S14 SR20DET coil packs, just used them for post swap startup after that I went to Di Spitfires.

Make me an offer, I know they work great.. as low a mileage as you can expect for these.

have you noticed any gains or improvements (or have any documented?) for the splitfires?

No, I'm so bad about that... I was promised a dyno from the shop that I got the swap from but they can never fit me in one . I did the splitfires the same day as the exhaust so its impossible to tell which did what as far as power. I will say this, I have a few friends with other SR powered S-13's at varying levels of modification and one that is similar to my setup requires 3lbs extra boost to keep up with me, but his is S13 redtop and mine is S-14 with VVT, so who knows.

Those coipack won't work in a CA. Please try and keep the threadjacking to a minium.
