Did the trans fluid 40k ago.

When coming to a stop sometimes there is a noise like gears engaging. No pull or anything, just a new noise...

Also noticed as decelerating to a stop there is hum kinda like a fan or something when coming to a stop, it goes away once the car is at a stop. I think this has been happening for a long time and may well be normal - more just curious what is that.

Also seems to jerk excessively sometimes but only sometimes when changing from decelerating to accelerating... and not correlating with accelerator...often it's a gentle accelerator but a pretty big hit.... Ive have bad mounts before, it doesn't feel like that.... Maaaayybbeeee an axel beginning to go? I found a small tear in the boot way over at the end, near the boot clamp, with a small amount of grease thrown up into the wheel well, pretty small amount though, maybe a teaspoon worth.
Somebody on here had noticed last time I posted Torque screenshots that my trans fluid pressure was a little low. The fluid level was only a little below full though. (Probably just a little underfilled )

Just learned today how easy the diff and transfer case fluid is to change, going to do that next week but I doubt that's contributing.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you have a great day!

Check your subframe bushings. They're notorious for failure on the gen1 Rogues and can result in all kinds of weird clunks, noises, and even steering vagaries. The hum is probably the stepper in the CVT running the pulley ratio higher as you decelerate, if so that's normal. If you have CVTz50 you can confirm it by watching the target ratio, if the hum corresponds to a major ratio change then that's your culprit.

Vstar,
Have you ever heard of or done this to increase the longevity of the 1st gen front sub frame bushings? It adds support to the bushing tube at the bottom, so the bushing is less likely to tear in tension. I installed a set without cutting the poly bushings, seems to fit and help.
What are your thoughts? Youtube to the short video: PSB bushings.

As a dealer we obviously can't do that, but I've seen it done and I agree it seems to work prophylactically. How long it will help bushings which are already shot, I dunno. That's a lot of load on a limited amount of rubber, so it may not last long.

I don't think it would last very long if the oem style bushing is already shot at the top.
Just wondering about the long term effectiveness of doing this on a still good bushing as additional support. I guess my main question is " will it do any harm in the long term"?

I've done that bushing hack cutting it. Seems to be holding and no loud clank acceleration and deceleration.

I don't see how it could possibly hurt anything, it's just reinforcing what's there. We had a customer in here way back with (I think) an '08 that we replaced the subframe, and he asked if there was anything which could be done to make sure it never happened again. One of my compatriots did a similar hack to it, and as far as I know that ride is still rock solid. Been a long time, so anecdotally, I'd have to say it helps.
