I got my S15 turbo and the sonofabitch needs the center section clocked. i have unbolted the exhaust side, sprayed PB blaster on it for 3 days now and tapped it with a hammer and cant get it to budge i need about 35* of rotation. this crap is killing me. i havent used heat yet and would rather not considering its 100* here so i thought id ask my comrads.

LMK

Some turbos you have to pull both the housings off. The housings sometimes have pins to hold them in place.

loosening the exhaust housing bolts should be all you need to do. Have you tried beating on it with a rubber mallet? Sometimes they'll seize together a little. There's not much to it other than that.

when the turbo gets heated up, it likes to lock into the exhaust housing, making those bolts a ***** to get loose.

put it on a big table vise and take the 13mm and put a pipe on it and try. if not, put the 13 on the bolt and hammer it. if it's stripping, you're ****ed. on 2 occasions i had to file down the 13mm exhaust bolt down to an 11mm to remove it.

so the exhaust housing wont budge even after using the bolts to push against the chra? stick the coolant banjo bolt back in so the exhaust bolt has something to push against.

the bolts have to be pretty loose to be able to rotate the center.

i had the bolts that hold it on, all the way out and still noghitng so i looked at a S15 motor in a s13 today and it was clocked the same so i just installed it not being 100% straight up and down. Im guessing with a .003 restrictor it doesnt flow enough oil that it has to be straight.
